Default Heap corruption detected?

Trying to get this thing up and running. Not having a lot of luck. TOTAL NOOB WARNING: I am technically computer literate, but I don't have a lot of experience with this sort of thing.

OS: Vista Home Premium
Processor: AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ 1.9 GHZ
RAM: 3071 MB
System Type: 32-bit

Method of install:

First ran through http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=VS2008 to DL and compile, then through http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/showthread.php?t=29043 to get the maps, quests, and other things. Re-installed EQ Titanium after uninstall, changed the eqhost.txt to go to 127.0.0.1 (since it's on this machine). Changed the link to run EQgame.exe with the 'patchme' argument. Ran the program. Passed the warnings, the agreements, etc, finally get to logging in. Enter user-name and password. EQ gets minimized and the following appears:

Code:
Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library

Program: C:\EQServer\EQEmuLoginServer.exe

HEAP CORRUPTION DETECTED: after Normal block (#582) at 0x009A4488.
CRT detected that the application wrote to memory after end of heap buffer.

(Press Retry to debug the application)
Clicking on EQ again brings up a screen with something about voting on it. No matter where I click in there, it simply minimizes again and shows the error thingy. Happened with a patched version (forgot to add the 'patchme' argument and ran the sucker) as well (may have been a different set of numbers). Tried to do a search for answers on the forum but wasn't able to find anything helpful. Sorry if this has been answered before.

You're probably using a bad version of the crypto lib but I don't know, unless you have to play while not being connected to the internet I'm going to have to go with what Rogean said.
