Default Eternal Norrath (Alternate TLP)

Started a server recently, looking to grow a community around it for those who are interested. The goal of this server is to revisit long-play of Progression Servers.

Server progression starts in Classic, and will open up to a new expansions after extended long-play of content over the course of several months.

Server's progress as of 12/27/2018:

- Max Client per IP is currently set to 2.
- Locked Server to EverQuest Classic
- Level Cap is set to 50
- Added "cshome" zone files for GM use.

- EXP rate set to 1.25x, and Group XP bonus set to 100%
- Leveling is less tedious, but still provides a "grind". The goal is a "smooth leveling" experience for new toons, allowing skills to continue to grow, and players to reach "end game" a bit quicker than normal TLPs.
(These values may be adjusted later.)

- Removed "Defiant" type gear, entirely. These items take away from the need to explore or competition for loot by providing "overdose" stats.

- Set variables to allow use of old zones (Freeport, Commonlands, North/South Desert of Ro + Oasis)

- Set variables that fixed issues with new characters made in Freeport were spawning in Crescent Reach - they now spawn at a "Safe Spot" in West Freeport for the time being. Players will need to run to their Class GM.

Roadmap notes:

- Seeking Devs & GMs to help with the server project.
- Server optimization / outsourcing.
- Exploring PvP based on Guilds, Deity, or Factions. (Community vote / request)
- Exploring Firiona Vie loot rules.
- Exploring providing hot-zone instancing, or raid-instancing, if server population grows to such a demand.
- Unlocking Content in 3-6 month intervals - allowing players to play through content and grow "progressively".

Considering that I would like this to be an "alternate TLP" experience, I'm considering some tweaks to the server settings for playable extension on content, while still following "Time-Locked Progression" style.

- Exploring allowing Beastlords + Berserkers as early as Classic, but still roll out Iksar & Vah Shir with Kunark / Luclin

- Exploring disabling of content types (Tribute Masters, LDoN camps, PoK books) until their time to be used, or having these features become unlockable through custom quests.

Per the original posts:

Adjusted XP rates, Beastlord + Berserker available in Classic, FV Loot Rules.
Also looking into PvP + custom quests / content
Also non-true box / allowing players to have some boxing capabilities in-game.

Server is still under construction, currently.

Server Updates 12/30/2018

- Reduced EXP rates, as they were slightly too quick.

- Enabled Class/Race EXP bonuses & penalties.

- Adjusted New Character spawn-in for Freeport directly next to Plane of Knowledge book. Players will still need to run to their Class GM if starting in Freeport.

- Enabled Berserker and Beastlord to be available as early as Classic.

- Enabled Frogloks to be available as early as Classic, their spawn-in is within The Rathe Mountains. Iksar and Vah-Shir will still unlock with Kunark and Luclin, respectably.

- Removed Veteran Rewards AAs.

I'm building this from scratch, not pulling anything from other EQEmu servers.
I'm new to this, and the server is still being built, and I am working towards a custom experience based off general flow of "TLP" style, but not meant to be an accurate-to-era style of TLP.

Server Updates 1/1/2019

- Old zones have been implemented, because nostalgia.
- Nektulos Forest no longer rains NPCs!
- Plane of Knowledge books are locked until Planes of Power is released on the server.

Roadmap notes:
- Lavastorm currently has issues with mob / NPC spawns, and the zone line to Temple of Solusek Ro is broken. Travel to SolA, Naggy, and Najena should be fine, however. Fixes to come.
FIXED - Druid and Wizard port spells require to be retargeted to old zones. To avoid stepping into dead-zones, please refrain from using ports to these zones until this has been fixed.

Should anyone find additional issues with these zones, please let me know via PM on discord, or send Knard a /tell in game.

Place the map legacy base, nav and wtr files for Nektulos inside your main base, nav and wtr directories.

Cleared it up instantly for me.
Also be sure to get rid of any duplicate zone references to 25 in zone points from ecommons, lavastorm and neriaka. They will create a "ghost" instance that uses old nektulos geometry, but will have new spawn group placements.

Server is currently DOWN while I am looking at outsourcing options to migrate, like AWS. I'll announce when things go back up!
