Default world compiling errors

after chatting in irc it seems that the compiler is having troubles with perl.

I'm not sure what the problem you are having is, but I followed the wiki to setup a server on Debian Linux and it worked perfectly. The wiki can be found here if you want to check it out:

I just did a clean install of Gentoo last week and did not have any problems getting the emu up and running again. However, the latest version of perl in Gentoo's emerge is 5.8, if you are using a version newer than 5.8 that could be the problem. According to this post: http://eqemulator.net/forums/showthr...t=perl+problem eqemu depends on files that were not in the latest version of perl.

Default includes

the rpm package apparenlty has some include files missing so you should isntall it via tarball and copy the files over manually
