Default Issues with outside connections

hey everyone

So I was trying to get my server to allow others to connect but have been running into some issues. Below is some minimal info on my setup. I myself can connect and log in/play on my server (KugPG Custom) but I have tried the following and none of it has worked to allow others onto my server:

running on Windows 7 32 bit
my router/modem is a AT&T 2wire wireless/cable 3800 HGV-B

here's the things I've tried so far (in order):

-tried without ports forwarded (of course got the expected result of no outside connectivity)

-disabled windows firewall

-forwarded ports 7000-7100 (UDP initially, then TCP and then both before setting it back to just UDP) and port 9000 (UDP) to my computer

-then forwarded 5998 and 5999 (UDP) to my computer

-after forwarding didn't work I tried DMZ mode

-then tried removing the comment brackets and changing the eqemu_config.xml address and local address to my external and internal IPs

-after all of this registered a domain at no ip and configured everything in the guide at this link (http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=RouterFix) and ran it with no errors except that still nobody could connect (all ports listed above are still forwarded at this point)

any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

edit: just unlocked it and set it back to just having the ports forwarded as opposed to the router workaround

Lets see if I can be of any help. Right now my router is set to forward the following.
9000:UDP -server
10500:UDP -UCS
5998-5999:TCP/UDP - login
7000-7100:UDP - zones

Added -> world,zone,ucs to firewall exception list.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0">
<server>
    <world>
        <shortname>ShortName</shortname>
        <longname>Long Name</longname>

        <!-- Only specify these two if you really think you need to. (read: You don't) -->
        <address>derp.no-ip.info</address>
        <localaddress>192.168.1.100</localaddress>

Pretty much the same stuff as you'll find in all the other threads.
Double check all your settings and that you are using the correct type in your router for port forwarding. If it doesn't work report back.

You do not need the login server Ports forwarded unless you are running your own login server.

The same for the two lines that say do note comment unless you need to. Tose re only if running your own login server. If you are having these issues, then that is a complication you do not want.

Well I replaced the router I was using with a newer model last night and ran the server through the usual forwarded ports and that seemed to fix the problem for now. Thanks all for the suggestions
