Post Hosting Questions

I'm considering running my own server. I'm digging through all the info, and I'm completely a newb, so it's taking me a while to wrap my head around.

However, this is one question I can't seem to find the answer to:

Do I host the server from my laptop?
Is it hosted by EQEmu?
Is there free server hosting through a website?

You could.
No.
Depends how much you wanna pay. I don't think many people use hosting, but some do. I think most of the bigger servers do colocation hosting at some data center.

Ok, that actually makes things much clearer for me, oddly enough. Thank you!
