Default Character/Mobs not animated: Bootcamp on an MBP

Hidyho all,
First off, thank you so much for running this project. I havent played EQ in 5 years, and I've been having a blast with eqemu in the past week.

One of the boxes I play on is a MacBook Pro with Bootcamp and WinXP. The install is recent, but Im not 100% that it is entirely updated - there are no automatic updates for bootcamp coming from Mac's update program.

Everything works fine except that my character isn't animated, nor are any of the other mobs. It seems as though some type of animation is happening because the animation changes as I move my character around, but it's not in any kind of sequence.

When I move around my char it just looks like they're floating along. They also move abnormally fast, and the keyboard is overly sensitive when Im using a WSAD+mouse configuration. Mouse movement is normal speed/sensitivity.

The thing it reminds me the most of is old emulators for original nintendo - that the hardware was just too fast for the game, and you had to slow it down in some fashion.

I checked the wiki and the forum.
Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Hermit

its the dual processor issue. your mac book probably has a core duo processor. search the forum for the "dual processor" fix. its pretty easy and worked for me. i actually use my macbook to dual box with a monitor ( i run 2 EQ clients on the same macbook booted into XP)

Default Fixed

Thanks sfisque!
You were right, it's a dual processor issue. For other folks, here are the links to fix the issue:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896256 - Link to the MS Support Article

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...v4-x86-ENU.exe - Direct Link to the Download

Backup your registry, then run the .exe to patch. This fixed it for me on my Macbook Pro/Bootcamp/WinXp.

Cheers,
Hermit
