Default Custom Helmet Graphics

Ok well when I put on Custom Cowl of Mortality it doesn't show up as anything custom just the regular helmet... I am pretty sure this is a Client Limitation and nothing to do with the binaries however i'm not 100% sure of that...

Thinking of buying one on live to check to see if there is even still custom helmets at all but has anyone been able to get them to work.. Or are they just not in the new models released after POP..

Seems some players can see it fine with some clients too though shrug..

My findings are that at some point SOE removed support for the special Velious graphics from the client rendering engine. Even with Luclin models turned off, only basic cloth, leather, chain, and plate armor will show up.

Yeah found out how to make Custom helms... You must have the old models turned on instead of the new ones to actually see it but the UNK012 and UNK127 fields set to 1 is what give the helmet the custom look..

Is this a "made you look"? I don't see any helm graphic for 35.

Oh, I see what's going on. 31-33 are loading Iksar male helm models 1-3 instead of human female models 1-3. Interesting, indeed.

hmm I suspected that 33 was "iksarish" but I havent seen an iksar since 2003, so I had no clue. 31 doesn't seem like iksar however

Yeah, it's a direct correlation. In fact, it appears that increasing the helm texture number in steps of 30 scrolls through other race helms as well. 90-92 are Erudite helms.

I also noticed that human males are 1 step behind the females, so to get the Iksar helms, you have to use 61-63, and for the Erudite ones, 120-122.

the helms don't fit corectly however - the eye holes don't match up with the eyes.

Right, because they were designed for another race model, not the one it's being stuck on.

You know you don't have to use underscores for surnames right? You can just use a single parenthesis before the surname.
