Here is a zip with some of them

EDIT;
I believe these files are Sony proprietary, and since it's a forum policy not to distribute or link to anything that might even hint piracy, I've removed the link (Angelox).

If you have the client files already, classic and expansions up to Luclin stored their music as MIDI files. They're the ones that have a .XMI extension. Within a given file, there may be several different songs. The Kelethin theme is in the gfaydark.xmi file. Interesting note: the old EQ theme is in the North Freeport file (freportn.xmi)

Expansions PoP and later used MP3's

I converted the .xmi to .mid and it wasnt the kelethin themesong. It came up with the butcherblock themesong, are there more songs in the .xmi file? What software should I use to look at the songs in it?

Each XMI usually has several songs in it. Winamp played them for me with no problem, it would just play each one back to back. I didn't have to change the files' extension. I am admittedly using a fairly old Winamp with an equally old MIDI plug-in for it.

XMI stands for eXtended MIdi. Each .XMI file can contain several tracks, and the first track in the gfay file you mention sounds like the ButcherBlock music (I think the track you're looking for is track 5, off the top of my head).

Extended MIDI was created by a single company around ten or fifteen years ago, and the format is particularly obscure. It supposedly does some things that MIDI doesn't do, but it doesn't support variable tempo (even though .XMI files can contain the "set tempo" command, players must ignore that command when playing .XMI files). Exult, an open-source rewrite of Ultima VII (available here: http://exult.sourceforge.net/) is the only place where I was ever able to find out how to play them. I've actually written a small .XMI player using it. XMI files are otherwise closely related to standard MIDI, and the Exult code handles both file formats (I didn't bother implementing the standard MIDI stuff for my player, but it wouldn't take much to add it from the Exult source).

Since you've brought up Exult, and ultima rewrite, I would also let you know I've rewritten Ultima IV several years ago a a project. There's only one other current U4 project out there, and we both started out programing it the same time years ago.

My U4 plus editor tools et.al for your enjoyment ... has quite a following I understand.

Why would we care that you have an interview on a website nobody's heard of? I'm not trying to flame you...but don't brag like that.

Quite a few of us have heard of rpgdot.
I see it as an excellent show of George's skills that he was interviewed by a known site for work he has done.

Try not to be so rude, please.
