Default Can't change EQ host file

I am attempting to change my EQ host file contents, to that on the Playguide, but when it opens up through notepad, and I change the login adress, when I hit save it says "Cannot save, please make sure path and filename are correct."

Any help? I'm using vista.

I've had that problem before, and here's what worked for me:

Copy the EQ host file and paste it on your desktop.
Open it in notepad and change it to what you want then save.
Copy it again and paste it back into your EQ folder and overwrite the existing one.

It sounds weird but it worked for me

When I got my new computer it did the same for me (with Vista). Turns out it wasn't a vista issue.

Make sure you have administrative authority for the account that you are using on your computer. Some default accounts dont grant admin priveleges.

I had that problem also and had to right click the file and uncheck read only than it would save.
