Default Application Error after server logon

When I press the logon button in the server selection screen the screen turns black and an error comes up. Last night I was playing fine, logged in and out several times. Today, I see this error:

Application Error

The instruction at 0x029c1c6b referenced memory at
0x00000018. The memory could not be read.

Click on okay to terminate the program.

Does anyone have any idea why this error has cropped up and maybe what to do about it?

Thanks in advance.

I have had this issue on my system just a few days ago after setting up the Underfoot client. It is related to a video error bug.

Best way to get rid of it is go into your Everquest directory and delete (or rename) your eqclient.ini file. Then startup EQ and log all the way into the game. Once in there you can change your resolution back to whatever you like.

Alternatively if that doesn't work you may try removing the INI file again and switch your desktop resolution to 1024x768, running Everquest, log back out and reset your desktop resolution.
