Default [NOOB] How do I setup my own private server? (Non-public)

Basically I want to play on a certain server called AXCLASSIC, although the exp rate is way too slow at my taste but everything else is alright. And since its a very old server, its DataBase is available to the public.

How do I setup my own private server with the Axclassic (or any other server DB) database, so I can play alone in it and screw around testing stuff such as modifying the exp rate for example...?

I have 0 knowledge about setting up private servers.

Are there any threads that explains fairly easily and simple as much as possible on how to do something like this?

Thanks in advanced

Here is the last(?) version of the AX-Classic standalone installer. It's very, very obsolete nowadays and support has long since ended for it.. but that's the #1 way to play offline AXC. Might not even run on W7+ though. It's been years since I've tried it and should come with a "warranty void" sticker on it. Surumon has some updates and the readme file there has some install instructions.

Otherwise, this is a much nicer modern solution but will not run the AX database without either luck or knowledge.

I have successfully installed Axclassic-PEQ and its map files with the launcher as well. I have managed to create an account, but strangely I cannot connect with it even after starting mySQL from the PEQ launcher.

What am I doing wrong?

EQHost.txt is probably looking for the wrong port. 5999 is for RoF (?) clients.. Titanium needs 5997 or 5998 I think?

As for changes to eqhost.txt not saving, you've either got it in program files or set to read only. Rightclick/properties/uncheck read only, or move EQ Titanium out of C:\Program Files.
