Default Black screen after server select

Hello,

I followed all the instructions on the getting started guide. I replaced all the files and stuff. I just did a fresh clean install of Titanium. After I hit P99 or any server for that fact it goes to a black screen, but I can still move my mouse.

Any thoughts?

My comp is:

Gateway FX Laptop
Vista Home Premium SP 2 64 Bit
4 Gigs of Ram
Duo Core 2 GHZ Proc (I changed the target on the eqgame.exe)
2G Video Card

I also am having the same problem. After selecting a server, the screen goes black and eventually says Everquest (Not Responding) on the task bar. Any solutions?

Do you have:
Code:
WindowedMode=TRUE
in your eqclient.ini ?

Also, post your complete <EQ Folder>\logs\dbg.txt contents. That might shed some light on the problem.

If you have a software firewall on your PC (e.g. Windows Firewall or Zone Alarm), you could also try disabling that temporarily to see if it is interfering.

I checked my client and the windowmode true is in there. I also disabled my windows firewall and tried it and its still not working. I am using AVG as my antivirus, could that be an issue at all? Also here is my logs/dbg.txt :

What version of EQ do you have installed ? Anniversary Edition, maybe Prophecy of Ro, judging by the date ? That is not a supported version, which is why it isn't working.

EQEmu supports these client build dates:

Some servers, like P1999 only support Titanium (and maybe SoF).

EDIT:

Googling for that build date suggests it *may* be the 'Escape to Norrath' trial version. If you do actually have Titanium or a supported version installed, I would search your hard disk for any traces of 'Escape to Norrath' and delete it, or maybe search your harddisk for all copies of everquest.exe/eqgame.exe and delete those folders and then re-install Titanium and try again.

Hmm i had titanium installed on my desktop from back when i used to play and Depths of Darkhollow came out so I'm not sure what other expansion it would be, but I will just reinstall it and see if that fixes it. Thanks much for the help, I'll report back to update.

Oh wow you are probably right, i was playing the trial for a bit while deciding if i wanted to return to EQ, until i stumbled upon EQemu. I'll delete escape to norrath and try that. Thanks!
