Default Catching Mob Crash...

Hello there,

I've got a wierd problem on my server.
First it's 0.5.9dr1, the DB is 0.5.8 compatible and the server is set to PvP.

Sometimes, I get this message: "Catching Mob Crash..." only when I cast some negative spells on Mobs/Players or when someone else does it in the zone. The consequences re to make the melees or casters not being able to use their melees skills anymore. And when it happens, I've got "Catching Mob Crash..." for each melee swing.

I really don't have any idea on how to fix that... tried many things as recompiling the sources and I still have this problem.

Guess noone has an idea about this problem... and I still get it with the latest sources from cvs.
It's not DB related as I've tried with the Peq classic one.
Can that be due to the spells_us.txt? wondering....

i'm sorry to bump thread but I still have the melee bug and I really don't know how to get it fixed....

-- The server is 0.5.9dr2 (10th october sources)
-- DB 0.5.9 compatible
-- ServerType set to 1.
-- Guildwars set to 0.
-- The sources have been compiled with the release profile. With the Debug I don't have the problem it seems but I've got a lot of zone crashes (due to cpu/ram?)


It mostly happens when someone cast a spell in the zone...

when the Catching Mob Crash message appears, the guy who causes is unable to melee anymore...

And again, by compiling with the Debug profile works but it eats all the cpu/ram..

Any idea what spell it is? Basically what zone is doing when you see "Catching Mob Crash..." is preventing itself from crashing. This might cause undesirable effects (not as bad as a hard crash tho). If you can provide the spell name to me, I can try to reproduce it and fix the bug that is causing it.

I don't think it's due to the spells, LE... not sure on that tho..

Ok, here are the reports I had.

-- Froglok / Paladin / root and heal spells in Lavastorm and Solb .
-- Barbarian / Beastlord / level 44 pet and the heals spells in almost all the zones.
-- Iksar / beastlord / level 22 pet spell in almost all the zones.
-- DarkElf / necro / level 24 pet spell in almost all the zones.

I think there are more spells that bugs the melee but I didn't have others reports yet.

do you have the right spells_en.txt or whatever, if you have the newer patched one or older ones you would get spell disfunctions.

DR1 release and latest spells_us.txt
Latest spells came from the patch before today, and as far as i can recall the DR1 wouldnt work with that patch or the current as of today patch to live...

The server is now dr2 and tested all kind of spells_us.txt client and server side.

I've also noticed something yesterday. When someone casts in a zone (happens very often in SolB), it can randomly melee bug a guy in the same zone, even if he 's not the caster.

I did not have this issue with the 0.5.9dr1 29sept sources.
