Default Editing Database Files?

Hello! I just installed and tested out an EQEmu server (used the Windows Installer), and beautifully it works!

Out of the box all of my characters end up in the Gloomingdeep tutorial zone, which is not at all what I want. I figure changing the start locations for race/class/deity combinations is a parameter in some database, so I want to figure out how to edit that database.

(I apologize if this should be obvious! I did take a databases course years back but don't remember how to do anything with them.)

Where are the database files located, and what is the preferred method for editing them?

Thank you so very much!

Heidi SQL was installed when you ran the installer. Fire that badboy up as the root user, password is eqemu and start poking around.

Good luck and have fun!

The client has a button on the character creation screen to enable/disable starting in the tutorial zone.

I can't remember..but, I think the 'World:EnableTutorialButton` rule set to false also disables that character creation button.

If not, it definitely disables the charsel one ('Enter Tutorial'.)

Thank you, both of you! I'll try what you've suggested and see what I can do! : )
