Default Just an observation with Bot gearing

Not trying to imply old news, just not sure if this observation with bots is
known well.

When a bot is given summoned gear, whether bot dies, camps or player logs off
and comes back a day later, the bot always keeps the summoned (temp) gear.
Strange enough, with any gear that is attunable, the bot loses it when dying,
but keeps the summoned pet gear and any standard lore gear.

I kind of like that myself. (smirk)

I think even player pets overlook some of those restrictions.

I can look at it when I get into that part of the code, though.

EDIT: Think I misread part of that statement..but, I'll still look into it when I get there

A little bug that happened yesterday with a player, a newly created bot wasn't following
or moving at all. It hadn't happened to me or anyone else, but as far as we determined, it
happened right after the player gave his bot a new sword, without removing the original
sword first. Once corrected, then he had to zone and bot has been functioning properly
since then. So not real sure on an actual pinpointed cause.
I will be testing that theory though, lol
EDIT: I forgot to mention too, I had a summoned sword on my own test bot. I handed
him (through trade window) a new sword (not summoned) and he took the new sword
and handed the old, summoned one back to me.

Was the bot in-group with him?

Bots, of course, won't do anything unless grouped..turns their ai off.

Ya, that was the first question I asked him. We were both standing there as
we tried to figure it out.

You might check to see what the following distance is set to in the db for that bot (or affected bot for future occurrences.)

I tested that out with a 5000 distance and you can get pretty far from them before they move (might help troubleshoot an issue if there's a problem with saves.)

Thats interesting. I looked at the following distance and compared to the rest of
everyone's bots, (including his own, other bots), all of them are at 184, but that
bot in question is at 30.
My own bots follow me right away. I do know they lag behind a lot when I get
going and usually have to stop and wait to see where they are are, ahahaha.

I know I at least triple-checked that code before pushing it...

Let me take a look and see if something is askew there. (30 should have the bot kissing the back of that guys neck..or whatever body part they are close to.)

EDIT: I didn't see anything out of the ordinary with the code in that commit..

Just noticed a Bot cmd #Bot setfollowdistance
He must of done this himself maybe when he was trying to get it to follow.
He didn't do it to his other bots.
