Default EQ Client...on a mac?

As of recent, I purchased a new macbook which has served me wonderfully (in spite of all the mac haters out there). I currently am able to run the eq client through a vm of Win XP. While browsing, I did discover that a client was released through sony for mac.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience in controlling the updates to the correct/desired version needed to work with the Emu's?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mac users have their own server called Al'kabor.
It is from classic to PoP. The server has a very low population with a lot of bugs and 1 guild in the EPs.
You can find info here http://www.eqmac.com/
