Default Agro is totally out of whack now

Alright well a person can easily exploit a rooted mob since the agro system is seemingly out of whack and or my rules are out of whack or SOMETHING is going on hehe...

Anyway what they do is this:

Player A casts DA and gets close to mob so that the mob begins to hit it , meanwhile player B stands back and nukes the hell out of the mob.. Mob will continue to beat on the person with DA and totally ignore the person nuking it and it DOES NOT summon the person doing the damage ?? NPC's got it's attacks set up correctly , it does in fact summon but will not summon them.. *boggle*

I have to do some further testing to see if I can narrow down what exactly is causing this..

For now I have removed DA from the spells list so that players can no longer solo raid encounters on my server..

Strange stuff but perhaps it is something I am doing wrong and nothing at all to do with the new agro system.. If so I apologize in advance

As far as I know rooted aggro has always worked like this.

The player closest to the rooted mob will always be the mobs targets, regular aggro rules do not apply. I have actually set up encounters that specifically exploit this.

Easy fix. Set mobs run speed to 0.0001 it will be rooted but will have regular aggro rules.

As far as I recall, that is exactly how rooted aggro worked on live. Whenever you rooted a trash mob it always attacked the closeset player

Boss mobs however may have had different rules, ie maybe they did just as I described above.

Yeah, a rooted mob on live would always attack the nearest target, regardless of agro. You could keep agro on a mob indefinitely by having melee dps fight at max melee range and the tank stand right next to the mob while it was rooted. This wasn't really common practice due to breaking roots and it being ineffective on raid mobs though.

The summoning thing seems off though, I would think that normally, every summon cycle (every 6 seconds maybe?) it would summon the person highest on the agro list.

OK maybe so but the tank had to be NOT DA.. Otherwise mob would summon whoever else was near and on it's hate list

These guys just keep DA on and do no damage to mob yet it still attacks them
