Default Server Connection isssue... sorta

I recently found out about EQEMU and though it was awesome so i decided to try and make my own server. I followed this guide here

http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/sho...t=32980&page=6

Anyways i'm having no trouble logging in and having some fun on my server... but my friends can only get to character select screen, choose their stats ect... then when they try to connect to my world/server <--- i guess? they disconnect.

I had my sister in law port forward every port that was required... i'm behind a windows 7 firewall.. which i turned off and didn't help. I'm running off a static IP, i have DNS server set up but no alternate DNS... What else can i share... hmm

The server is Dokuton's magical server so if you want to try to connect feel free... i got this error today when someone tried to connect....

World_client err renekaren: received unkown EQapplicationPacket
World__slient_err opcode op_worldlogout (numbers and stuff)

Any help would be wonderful

Well this sounds strange, is that router where the server is located ? The router where the server is located would be the one needing the ports forwarded.

The Server is on my personal computer... our setup at our house works like this

Modem > Router > Brother/Sisters PC's
l

the router is also connected to > Ethernet switch > My computer/Wifes/Dads

... she portforwarded only my IP's ports...

Any idea XD?

Then there was zero reason to forward ports, definitely leave the router out of the mix.

Well I think you need to post your configs.

Well its not my family that wants to play with me, its other people outside the network and by config do you mean you want me to list my Eqemu_config.xml?

Yes, let's see that file.

I would recommend that you try to connect to the server from within the network, that would help pinpoint where you are getting the issue.

Well this is definitely wrong, it is still commented out. At least on mine, that will not work.

<!-- <address>some.server.com</address> -->
<!-- <localaddress>192.168.0.5</localaddress> -->

It should be something more like this.

<address>blackdeath.com</address>
<localaddress>192.168.0.5</localaddress>

Put your external ip in the address field, like so.

<address>199.199.199.199</address>

But you are not out of the woods yet, give me a list of what you forwarded on the router.

And I want to add that I am running the login server internally, I am not using the eqemulator.net login server. I have people that connect to me from outside but I felt that I wanted to run my own login server.
