Default server to validate client for Akkas EQEmu

I am trying to get an Akkas PEQ Server up and running and I think the problem might be my client... is there a server in the eqemulator.net list that I should be able to connect to confirm my client is good?

Open your client directory and go into the Logs sub-directory.

Look for a file called dbg.txt and verify the build date of the client here: https://github.com/EQEmu/Server/blob...versions.h#L31

If it's not one of those, then it's not going to connect (properly.)

Just curious, since I was never aware of that part of the code, I noticed this one in there :
Client62, // Build: 'Aug 4 2005 15:40:59'

Mind if I ask just exactly what "Client62" is ? lol

So you have a server fully up and running (properly) ? Is it using it's own login server or the public one ?
It's hard to find a solution without knowing the cause, which could be several different reasons.

server is up with its own login server. on the server console i can see the client activity on the login server, and then connecting to the world server. i can see in the perl window where it starts to load the character into tutorialb and i can also see in the world window where the character is zoning from character select to tutorialb

on the client it just goes black, sometimes it says server not responding, other times it just drops me back to the server select screen

So I assume you are using Titanium client. The eqhost.txt is set for port 5998 ? Are you running client on same machine as your server ?

Might be a router config problem, or firewall problem.

[Sidebar]

The '6.2' client was before my time..but, it was still supported up until the last couple of years - and yes, it post-dates the '6.1' client

I think they were live updated clients, opposed to the disc or ddl (steam) clients we support now.

The reason it is still 'locked' in the code is that it's a placeholder.

Perl scripts are hard-coded with that value and removing that entry would throw off every script that makes use of that enumeration.
