PERL / Zone compile error

I get a strange error when compiling with PERL on 0.6.0-DR2 on RH9. I get no warnings, just this ...

Code:

embperl.o(.text+0x157): In Function `xs_init`: /usr/include/c++/3.2.2/bits/stl_alloc.h:409 undefined reference to `boot_quest` collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I have no problems with the non-PERL compile. Any ideas ?
