Exclamation Normal Cast Time: 4.0 Your Cast Time: 2.8

I've been going through all spells for all classes and I came across a bunch of Shadow Knight, Paladin and Ranger spells that are showing incorrect spell cast times. Here's an example:

Observe the "Normal Cast Time" is 4.0 and the "Your Cast Time" is 2.8. This is occurring on a brand new, naked character with no AA's or anything special.

I have searched through every field imaginable in the spells_new table and I've read through every aspect of the https://eqemu.gitbook.io/server/cate...-effect-fields but I've had no luck. I've also been comparing it to spells that do not have the issue and I can't find anything that stands out.

My current theory is that this is specific to Hybrids and that it might be hard coded into the source, which I am not going to touch since I don't have the programming skills to comfortably do so. It's only affecting Shadow Knights, Paladins and Rangers but only on their direct damage spells with cast timers longer than 2 seconds. I found it only starts at lvl 51 and gets worse as you get to lvl 60. I thought maybe it was an AA but I wiped every AA table completely blank and it still happens.

I haven't found the issue on non-hybrid classes. I use the Titanium client. If anyone can shed some light on this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Smile ***solved***

I found patch notes from Feb 2001 that state:
Quote:
Hybrids that cast spells in combat were taking double penalties at higher levels. The casting times of their spells went up, and the amount of melee damage they do per second went up. This results is having to take longer to cast spells, and losing more damage/second for each second taken in casting. To help offset this, Rangers, Paladins and Shadowknights casting non-beneficial spells that have casting times greater than or equal to 3 seconds, now get a 3 % reduction in casting time for each level over 50. 3% at 51, 6% at 52, etc., to 30% at 60. Again, this applies only to non-beneficial spells.
That means this is late Velious based patch since Luclin wasn't released until Dec 2001. In this case, I'll just leave it in since I want my server to be true to Velious as of it's final patch.

We can consider the issue solved now =)
