Default EQ veteran, EQemu newbie

Hi all,

I've played EQ for close to 4 years (started in 2001 and retired in 05). I was part of a raiding guild (Assent/Maelin Starpyre) and pretty much raided content from SSRA up to Dragons of Norath. After that, played WoW for awhile and a couple other MMOs but didn't last for long.

Anyway, I'm excited again to go back to the original MMO that I fell in love with. I've setup my PC to run EQEmu last night and tested it out with EZ server.

Before I go start playing, here are some of things I'm looking for in a server:
1.) 3-box maximum
2.) group friendly, mature, & casual players/community
3.) as close to EQlive as possible
4.) slightly faster XP progression; slightly better rare drop rates, etc.
5.) stable long-term server; minimum downtimes
6.) resilient to cheats/hacks/etc.
7.) has a thriving economy (bazaar)

Recommendations?

Thanks,

Khaliss

PEQ The Grand Creation should be your choice, at least it is the closest server to your needs.

Do they have a box limit? How is the in-game economy?

Thanks for the links... I couldn't find anything that states on PEQgrandcreation forum about maximum number of multiboxed toons... does that mean it's unlimited?

i am by no means an official or anything of PEQ but i believe.

no limit on boxing, some rare folks 24box some single box..varys.

economy im a bit out of date on but people pretty much routinely give away some pretty decent items while others try to sell some things.

I rememeber you bro

I was in Sublimity then Assent as well as Bakz / Tavian. Me and Sosk play on Gnomish Prooving Grounds which is a progression based server. Currently in Elementals working towards Time.

I haven't been able to raid in a while cause of work, but I still log on and Sosk still plays there too.

Good to see you... been trying to get Kaid / Sild / Pimpy over here heh.. but they are all WoW lovers

Default EQEmu!?

It's crazy that I stumbled on this. I'm Thelios, a necromancer that played with Assent from the beginning of PoP through OoW and then took a leave from the game (anyone remember me?).

Sild, Pimpy, and Kaidman play WoW, huh? That's crazy. I'm back in regular EQ playing Underfoot content. Been thinking about an emu server for awhile now though, but know nothing about it...

Thanks! GPG is a great server, Short is very helpful... and you guys are cool Already loving the PEQzone feature and the overall EQMU experience. Starting zone is a big plus, including the NPCs, noob gear, buffs, spellguide, etc. Will login whenever I can and hopefully level to 65 within the week or so. Cya in game.

I log on here and there but I hope to start again come mid February. I've been telling them I'd be coming back and such, just work at the begining of the year is keeping me busy. But I'll be back. I'll see what extra gear I have laying around. I have like 8 chars and used to 6 box all the time. I try to stay to 3-4, tired of 6 boxing.. getting carpel tunnel :P

I'll see you in game soon
