General Question - client cannot connect, but...

I've recently had a desire to game again. I've gotten the lated SVN build of the server compiled and loading without errors. I'm using the latest PEQ svn release for the db.

Currently the only client i have is SoV (velious). I have ordered SoF but it won't be here until later in the week. Is there any way I would be able to test the server to find out if it's actually working before I get SoF in the mail?
I have no errors that i've noticed in the logs. So I would assume it's all good...

The server is a private lan/home server since the only thng we get here is dialup or satellite (who wants to pay that kind of money for 400meg of transfer at a time?).

Unless you changed the server to connect to the public LS, there isn't much you can do accept for wait for SoF. The SoV expansion will not work at all.

You can also check your server /logs folder and check the files in there to see if any errors stand out.

Thanks. That is actually what I somewhat expected to hear as the answer. My luck is that we will now be iced in and no mail delivered for a couple weeks.

here is what i did just for fun to see what i would get got a 2.4 mhz wireless avg cost 50.00 network card bought a 10.00 entended ant hight 12' for the wireless card and seen what wireless networks are out there scanned and picked up 10 networks one was un secured network so it was perfect leagel to connect to it. i have hard wired here no wireless router at this time.
