Default 'Unable to see target'

Hiyas all,
i seem to be missing something. I am running 0.7.0 and whne ever i try to cast a spell on an NPC i get 'unable to see target'. This is my first attempt at creating a server so i am reallly not very knowledgable at this stuff.

using:
Mysql 4.0.10
Perl 5.8.7
3.5 installer pack

thx much in advance

You need to get the maps files.

You must have maps directory with maps
in your emulation (eqemu) directory root.

I have a similar problem... where critters go 'static' and don't seem to move.

Oddly enough, when I had my Maps directory screwed up (didn't check to see where it extracted to and all my maps ended up at C:\eqemu\maps\maps) I had the same frequency of the issue (about 1 in 15-20 critters). The only thing that not having the maps did was break aggro (from faction). I could still attack and stuff would attack me back, "Ready to attack" stuff would just ignore me no matter where I walked.

Yeah, the .map files have something to do with field of view (FOV) of the mobs. If the server doesn't have them or they are improperly installed, the mobs won't "see" you until you attack them.

SI
