Default Newbie to EQemu Need Advice/Direction

Hi all -

I am looking to get back into EQ and I found this little gem. Basically, I am looking for a server that is real close to the "original game" but with a fast progression since I will be only a casual player.

what server would you suggest?

thanks B

Give PEQ The Grand Creation a try. It is not wicked-fast experience, but it is not slow. It has a good population to find a possible group, but I would box a pair of characters (using separate login accounts for each).

There are also a handful of really good custom servers out there that have a faster experience gain and are really fun. Look for servers that have a bit of a population during peak times and give each one a try.

PEQ is currently experiencing technical difficulties :(, but from what you're describing it's what you would probably want, the website is http://projecteq.net and if I were you, I'd just wait for it to come back and start there, it's a great server

Yes. According to the wiki it is http://www.projecteq.net/

It looks to be down right now. A good time to give some of the custom servers a shot.

PEQ has a global 1.5x EXP mod, you can probably get to 65 in a day or two depending on how dedicated you are :P also it goes pretty fast if you multibox, and there used to be mostly things given away for free, but there seem to have been an influx of greedy people :P

well I doubt you could get to 65 in a day if you are new to server. Now if you have a dmg shield class (druid/mage) with a sham or cleric and some nice weaps with fungi then yea perhaps it could be done imo.

Best I did with a twinked/buffed monk was lvl 1-35 in ~5 hours with just sham buffs.
