Here bud do this...

Go into your EVERQUEST folder, open eqhost.txt file and delete WHATEVER it has in there.

Put this in there...

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5995

Then RIGHT click on the eqhost.txt file, click properties. Click READ ONLY! Then click apply or ok.

Then download this file and put in your EverQuest folder [ Overwrite the current one ]

http://www.eqemulator.net/eqlsClient.ini

Go to START, RUN, BROWSE... for eqgame.exe after the command add a space then type in patchme.

EXAMPLE: "C:\Program Files\Everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme

Then click OK. The game will start up.

4. Click on New Account... let the page load...

The information that is needed is obvious...
You can get your Account Key.. by logging into the forums.. clicking on "Profile" and you can grab your key to use there...

After reading all the posts on the login to eqemu servers after the recent patch.
I am still having trouble, logging into the eqemu server. I have done all the steps involved with the 'eqhost.txt' file (read only, contains the following:

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5995

I use a shortcut that points to the 'eqgame.exe' with patchme after it.

But after the Everquest loader screen displays, the client will crash.

Any ideas?

My client also crashes after trying to log on.
I'm an absolute noob with this so maybe that's why it's crashing.

Any words of advice?

Thanks!

The same thing happens to me Koshoji. I have tried doing this 2 ways that ive seen described in the forums but they havent worked yet. When I do the way Spike explains I can get into the login screen but when I type my account name and password in and click connect it crashes me to the desktop like it does to Koshoji except I dont even get to the loading screen it just crashes me out. When I tried it the way described in this thread: http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/vie...5be0b722127ff7 It tells me that the EQHOST.TXT does not exist and to make sure it is in my Everquest directory, which it is. I have had my old live acct canceled for about a month now and I had removed EQ from my PC not too long after. I just re-installed my old original EQ + Kunark CD and let it patch to the newer patcher screen with the GoD skin but I stop it when it gets to that point. So anyone know if im doing anything wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The latest patch is not compatible with the Emu. You need to wait until it is.

Thanks Animepimp.

So, when these things happen and a new work-around/tweak is figured out for people like us, is it usually posted to the message boards to alert us? I'm interested to see what this is like

Thanks again!

Well I actually got mine to work Now when I try to connect to a server though it loads up perfectly but afterwards when it should go to the character selection screen it sits for a couple minutes then a window pops up saying that my client may have crashed and it closes. Any ideas on how to fix?

Yeah, that's the same issue I have now... I can create a character, but as soon as I hit enter world, it gives me the "Everquest has detected that your client may have crashed... " etc schtick. I'm just biding my time, and trusting in the devs.
