Default Spells preventing characters from logging in

Disclaimer newb here and i have zero experience with linux. I switched from windows to linux b/c of lag issue. all characters could log in fine on windows minus the lag issue.

After restoring the backup i have 5 toons that i have to delete the spells on in order to be able to log them into the game. If i then #scribespells or use a program to /mac scribe spells once i log out i am unable to log back in until i have deleted the spells from the toons again. Also 1 of the toons i cannot login is a cleric but i have 2 other clerics i can log in. So it dosen't seem likes its just certain classes spells.

I've tried restoring earlier backups and they are having the same issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction to begin troubleshooting what the issue is here? Thanks in advance.

I posted a thread a few posts down, take a look. Sound like your problem? I'd link but on mobile. Sadly no clues if it's the same.

I wrote the code that allows larger spellsbooks in later clients.

I don't recall any issues like this.

To verify, I just created a level 50 shaman and ran the spells command.

No issues when zoning here.

Are you guys using MQ2?

ive tried with and without mq. On a fresh server install i made a wizard used a gm to level him to 60 and gave him money.manually bought all spells. i camped out after and was unable to log in again until i deleted character spells in database.

I had problems with wizards, druid and cleric.

thanks for looking at this.

It's come up before..even before I made those changes.

I've never been able to reproduce it, though :(

on a fresh install the installer script cannot install mysql++ or libwtdbomysql-dev it cannot find either package. Not sure if this is related to spell issue but no idea how to fix it. repository for libwtdbomysql wont work b/c the repo dosent have a release file.
