I am working on a server that will hopefully be fun for everyone that plays on it. I know starting a server up is hard that is why I am looking for a few staff members to help get this project running and going. I guarantee I am in it for the long run (I host the server myself)

I just built a computer for the server also

2 Terabytes hd space
a phenom II 3.5 ghz X6 cpu (yes, the new 6 core cpu by amd!)
16 gigsbytes of ram!
a fast internet connection

Goals for server:
1. Legit server with PVP optional (for people who want to pvp)
2. Custom quests, items, npcs, zones, stories.
3. Fun events and competitions with prizes
4. (looking into idea of random loot)
5. Higher XP value for groups
6. Some Zones with random loot drops for fun9
7. custom starting zone with starting gear/weapons to make the lower levels less daunting.

Current standings

server still in production and beta stage 10% done
Message board 95% done
Website - 10% done

I am constantly looking for fun idea's on how to make the server fun! suggestions welcome as always. I will make another post in the future when more things are finished

I am finding it is harder to make zones then I thought so I was wondering what is the type of server everyone likes? Right now I am working on quests/items/npcs was wondering what exp rate everyone thinks is decent and also is it better to use the SoD Login or the EQ Titanium login (ex. eqemulator as opposed to tsahosting)

Why would you make clones of EQLive zones with new stats? Wouldn't it make more sense to make things from ground up? That's what I did with Edge II's database, and it was a lot of fun.

Anyways, good luck on your server topic creator, I am looking forward to see what you come up with.

You can use both at the same time.

If you are running latest SVN, you can have players connect to peq or storm haven and make an account for the tsahosting LS, and then add two loginserver entries for both loginservers.

You can do that by adding a 1 next to the <loginserver> </loginserver> part of the xml ie; <loginserver1> stuff </loginserver1> and then two, etc.

I like the Random drop idea. Last world server has that and seems to be going very well (and the custom content also) i would throw into Beta to see how people enoy it. Looking forward to the server btw.
