Default EverQuest: Windows - Application Error : The instruction at... [SOLVED]

After installing EverQuest Titanium from the CDs, I launched the client via command:
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme
and was greeted with error:
Code:
Application popup: EverQuest: Windows - Application Error : The instruction at 0x000000001000F0CE referenced memory at 0x00000000FFFFFFFC. The memory could not be read.
in a popup.

As it turns out, having my Titanium installation in the legacy Program Files folder, Program Files (x86), was causing the problem. Once I moved my installation to a path with no parenthesis, C:\Titainum\eqgame.exe , everything worked as expected.

I just wanted to post this here as Google food for anyone else who runs into this issue.

Pretty sure that's related to administrative permissions or read-only on the folder.

If you ran as admin or disabled read-only, it should work. Can't remember which.

By God, you're right! I hadn't considered that, but I think my solution is still correct. Just put Titanium in a directory outside of "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)".

Sorry for mis-information, but I think this post is still helpful. Thank you Maze_EQ for the clarification.
