Issues building server

This is my 1st time building so I may be doing something wrong but I have not found any post that say to use another download site.

Building a windows server and I'm stuck on:
Step 5: Fetching EqEmu specific data files - maps and quests

The SVN checkout is failing on both the quest and maps.

For the maps I also tried the ftp server and the UN and PW also seem to be failing. Are the site temporarily down or is there another site to download from?

I think that part of the setup is outdated. If you have a eqemu_server.pl or eqemu_update.pl in your server folder, run that and follow the instructions for downloading the maps and quests. I just seen another post within the last week about it and there was another method of directly downloading them but I would have to look for it.

The easiest way to build a Windows server is with this absolutely awesome installer. It does everything for you and you can have a server up and running in minutes. I have used successfully on 2008 R2, 2012 R2 with no issues at all. It's really that simple.

As it's already been mentioned. Unless you know for certain you plan to implement source level customization, I would implore you to use Akka's installer.

If you were simply wanting to poke around the source, that could still be done either via web or cloning from master then looking at it in something such as Notepad++ from your hard drive.

There are more than enough rules for most and with the recent application of more of the niftier customization ones from Krab, Akka, etc. it's more than likely that anyone looking to put up a server anymore won't have more than enough power over it without going the old source build route. But, if you're a glutton for punishment, go for it.
