Arrow Patcher Poll (not backpatch)

Hey guys =)

I was wondering if you guys could help me with something.
I was wondering, would you guys consider about downloading a patch thats contains custom zone files that is bigger than useal in order to play on a server.

Because of this, would you not even attempt to play on this server?
Lets say for example the patcher is 40mb. You could download it from a site that has quick download speeds (probably on maximum speed). Would you download the patch to play on the server?

Thanks =)

Note: This contains custom zones files only and is not a backpatch.

The answer is likely yes, however, you have to not include any copywrited material in the zones. There was interest in the past to collect an assortment of zones for people to use with Windcatcher's OZ zone editor.

I personally prefer 'click and play' over dling a patch. but i would still use/dl the patch if it was really necessary or if i really wanted to play.

but ya for my server im tryin to stay away from patcher as much as possible.

As long as the server looked interesting, of course.

Thumbs down Thx for posting

Thx for replying and helping me.

The issue is that I wanna change the starting zone. The current starting zone is the nexus which is extremly boring and I wanna change it to another zone. The zone files are around 30 mega. I know that some people hate donwloading big files but I know it will be dramaticly more exciting and new.

I was wondering what should I do:

- I can just keep the starting zone as the nexus or just make it the new zone.
- I can start the server with the nexus as the starting zone and see if people would like for me to change it to the new zone after some time.
- I can even think of a pre-starting zone that you can choose to go to the nexus or to the new zone. But it would split up the players a bit. I can also put some npc that will send you to the new zone if you decide to download the patch.

I am mainly thinking of the third option. Was wondering if its worth the "risk".
Wanna hear your ideas =P

P.S
I was wondering how many of you still useing dialup or any other slow connection.

Thanks,
Swish.
