New! Achievement System

I am happy to announce the release of The Hidden Forests Achievement system.

I've Been writing it for about a month now and its first release is out, You can take a look at it at The Hidden Forest.

The system is still in development and we will continue to add achievements regularly. Come on Down and see where you stand. Will you top the charts? You'll never know till you visit The Hidden Forest


Achievements can be gained by:
* Killing of Named Mobs
* Completing Tagged Quests
* Improving Tradeskills
* Getting your Epic 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5
* Leveling
* Keyring

There is a leaderboard and player search. You can pull your own character up and see where you stand as well as pull up a friend and compair your achievements against theirs.

Currently its not ready to release to the general public. I'll have to write a howto on the general features & such. The point system is currently just another way to rank yourself against your peers. It seems to work well in this community because of how aggressive we are to be the best.

It Could be possible to trigger a reward based off of the amount of points you have, though it hasn't been implimented yet.

wow seriously badassed!

this is the kind of thing i wished for years they'd come up with on Live.
always wanted a sort-of checklist to see what i have done and what i have not, does this system show things uncompleted by chance?

I would have to say after playing WoW for a few months, achievements did give me something else to do while waiting for a group or raid. I wish it was something they put into Live before I quit because there was a lot of time when I was /lfg and didn't get a group, which is the main reason I stopped playing Live.

I have to say, this is a very cool thing you have added.

Please, keep us posted on the out come of wether or not you will release this to everyone to put into their own servers.

If by chance you do, is there an easy way to assign things as achievements? and give them a specific amount of points as well?

I am very curious of what you have done. I am impressed, which is a hard thing for people to do with me. Good Job all around.

I would love to play on your server and check this system out, but unfortunately I barely have time to get my server prepared with all the work I do to make a living (If you call living paycheck to paycheck a living).

Anyhow, I am looking forward to the day you release this.
