Default Help SetupDLL.cpp Issue?

Error Code: -5006 : 0x8000ffff
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (1287)
pAPP:EverQuest Titanium
PVENDOR:Sony Online Entertainment
PGUID:32714287-4234-412A-877B-D33AFABFDE2B
$7.1.100.1280
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 0.64

First I tried installing from the CDs, that stopped responding so I exited it and copied the data from all the CDs to a folder.
Then when I tried to use it from the folder I got that error before it even started installing, at least it opened the "initiallizing install" window and it stopped working.
It now does the same with the CDs.

Give this a go and let me know how it works. If it created a sony/everquest folder at all in the previous failed attempts delete it.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files
Rename the folder called Installshield to Installshield_Old

Now try installing the Titanium disks again, if this doesn't work for you I think your next option would be to contact Sony's Tech support and give them the error message..

Good Luck

Might also try a different CD-Reader, if you have one. Even though you can xcopy *.*, I find that the CRC thingies rarely acknowledge bad data anymore. Just happened to me installing WinXP, from disc, then from folders after almost bashing my CD-Reader to bits. Bad copy, too.

I was the one having this problem and you fixed it, thank you very much. Unfortunately now I'm having another problem, which is just my luck :[
