Default Problem With Game Running Ultra Fast

So about a year or so ago I upgraded my pc and have a CPU that works at 4700MHz and noticed I wasn't able to play EQ anymore. Basically everything is just insanely fast like GM speed x10. I found out that I had to go into my BIOS and lower the speed to at least 4200MHz and the voltage a similar degree which fixed the problem completely. However when I do that my computer will freeze pretty randomly over the course of the next few hours, sometimes less. Am wondering if anyone knows a better solution to this problem? I've tried a good amount of things like setting affinity and using WinEQ2 etc.

What client?

We had the same problem with the Titanium client, and the only fix was getting CPU speed below 4200.

Seems to be every client. Apparently live applied a fix for this a couple years ago but I don't think it was ever implemented into the emu.

These types of issues have nothing to do with the actual server code and it was probably fixed in a client that we don't support.

It's much easier for them to fix issues like that since they only support one 'live' client.
