ive noticed
that most 1017s on a local using minilogin are related to datarate.txt. also when i use localhost in the files instead of the actual ip or loopback i cant log in. my server is running on one of my servers not my main box. 8 is good for a local network setting for datarate.txt.

1017 on LocalHost?
I can't loggin in the server when I'm hosting my own server (1account only), but I can enter other ppl' servers.
I get the 1017 error when I select my server, (you need re-patch..bla..bla..bla). I also changed the datarate, but still nothing. here are my info, could you tell me why I cant create and enter my own server? I'm using windows 98 p3 833mhz 512MB gforce2 All expansions installed and last time I patched was November 24th. ( I can play on other servers so I don't think its the patch the problem). db: [Database] host=127.0.0.1 user=MY USER NAME password=MY PASSWORD database=eq Logginserver: [LoginServer] loginserver=127.0.0.1 (or localhost either way, doesnt work) loginserver2=127.0.0.1 (or localhost either way, doesnt work) loginport=5999 loginport2=5999 worldname=UBER!!~ locked=false account= password= worldaddress=127.0.0.1 (or localhost either way, doesnt work) [WorldServer] Defaultstatus=0 Unavailzone=arena [LoginConfig] ServerMode=Standalone ServerPort=5999 UplinkAddress= UplinkPort= UplinkAccount= UplinkPassword= Boot5zones: REM:--------------Start----------------------- @echo off start zone . 127.0.0.1 7995 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7996 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7997 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7998 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7999 127.0.0.1 exit cls REM:---------------END------------------------ Any help would be appreciated, Thank You |
What solved the problem for me...
A friend of mine and I tried to connect to several eqEmu servers, and tried to host own servers on the lan (minilogin).
We encountered the 1107 problem quite often, and tried out a bunch of things like changing from "localhost" to 127.0.0.1 in all the files, or using the NIC's IP address, we tweaked the datarate.txt, delete eq.tmp files, patched, repatched, but nothing helped for our local servers. Finally I managed to login by changing stuff in the miniligin.ini file: Quote:
Maybe that's a problem on the eqEmu servers on the internet too. Another problem I had on the local servers and on the internet (can only log onto one eqEmu server, the Mallorca one) was that I cannot zone, neither by moving to zoneline nor by using the #zone command. I fixed it by using the command "world -holdzones". Hope that will fix it for you too. Only problem we got left now is that no items or NPCs are available, but I think we will fix that asap ;) |
The IP 192.168.0.207 from your minilogin is supposed to me my internet connection IP?
|
No.

Thanks to anyone who helps :D |

Any clue why this would happen?
Anyone know why THIS would happen? I'm using the generic "eqemu" login yet it seems to be trying to log me in as "admin" and tells me the password is incorrect. I've checked the database, it's fine. I've readded eqemu and even "admin" (with several generic 'adminpass/pass' type passwords) but it refuses to allow me to log in - 1017 error
Code:
Using database 'eq' at localhost |
Problem
I am trying to connect to other EQEmu servers, I don't have my own. I click to join, it stays on a pure black screen for about 10-15 seconds then returns me to server selection screen. What could possibly be the problem??

Windows 2000 Server as router
Is there anyway to explain how to setup NAT on windows 2000 server. I'm going to look into NAT online also, but I can't get connected to my own server. Here's the layout of the whole setup
Windows 2000 Server : EQ Server Internal IP Address: 192.168.0.1 World IP Address: 68.117.138.206 ALSO ACTS AS MY ROUTER SHARED INTERNET "Loginserver.ini" [LoginServer] loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemu.net loginserver2=eqlogin2.eqemu.net loginport=5999 loginport2=5999 worldname=Enigma's locked=false account= password= worldaddress=68.117.138.206 [WorldServer] Defaultstatus= Unavailzone= [LoginConfig] ServerMode=Standalone ServerPort=5999 UplinkAddress= UplinkPort= UplinkAccount= UplinkPassword= "db.ini' [Database] host=localhost user=enigmafyv password=dolphin database=eq "boot5zones.bat" REM:--------------Start----------------------- @echo off if NOT exist spells_en.txt goto NOSPELL start zone . 68.117.138.206 7995 68.117.138.206 start zone . 68.117.138.206 7996 68.117.138.206 start zone . 68.117.138.206 7997 68.117.138.206 start zone . 68.117.138.206 7998 68.117.138.206 start zone . 68.117.138.206 7999 68.117.138.206 exit cls :NOSPELL echo You did not copy the spells_en.txt from your everquest directory to this one. Please do so or zones will crash on startup. PAUSE REM:---------------END------------------------ Windows XP : Client Machine Internal IP : 192.168.0.108 "eqhost.txt" [Registration Servers] { "eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999" } [Login Servers] { "eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999" "eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5999" "eqlogin3.eqemu.net:5999" "eqlogin.eqemu.net:5999" } When I start up EQ I login like usual, I can see my server in the list of servers. When I highlight and connect to my server, before I get to the character select screen, it bumps me back to the server list and pops up the 1017 error. I can play a regular standalone game hosting it and playing it on the same machine, but not host on one and play on the other, while routing on the host. How can I fix this |
Theres a bunch of posts on this... make a dynamic dns name (dyndns.org for example) and use it in your files instead of ip. Then on your client machine change the host file so that the dns name you set up resolves to the INTERNAL ip of the router machine, not the external IP.
Theres a bunch of threads on it, just search for NAT if you need more detailed instructions |
