Friend patched...
Ok...well a friend of mine had just started up on eqemu, wasn't paying attention, and patched his EQ. Now if I can find a way to zip my eq directory and give it to him, could he either delete his c:\everquest or just name it something else ie. c:\everquestlive and copy in the one I give him as c:\everquest? And couldn't you just switch back between folders by changing their names to go back and forth between eqemu and eqlive?
|
actally you can give him just the unpatched files ( about 5 of em ) and he overwrite the files no need to send him entire eq.
|
ok...Hmm...so which files would they be? ^_~ havn't d/led the patch yet myself (w/ a backup).
|
I need your e-mail to chat with you Getm. I would also like to know if they are doing anything to match EQ's new code to make EQEmu work again.
|
No... We just all decided to quit... But we still post here for giggles... Hogie and Lyn have only said like 8 times now they are working on it...
|
LMAO Trumpcard. I'm rather immature so I love it when people get annoyed about people who obviously arent as well informed.

Heres how i am able to play live AND Emu at my liesure (it's alittle complicated and space cosuming but it works.)
1. Copy your unpatched Everquest folder, and name it Everquest2 then patch... 2.after it finishes running patcher... name The patched one everquest1 and then delete the 2 from everquest2 (change the names BEFORE hitting play button) that way your left with everquest1 (patched) and everquest (unpatched) 3.hit play and have fun.. :D 4.Then to avoid patching your Everquest (unpatched) the next time you play...change it back to Everquest2 and delete the 1 from everquest1.. run patcher.. then then repeat step 2-3. (in case you screw up , which i did once, keep a second backup of the Unpatched EQ somewhere) |
My e-mail shouldn't be hidden, but it's trewr@neo.rr.com just in case.
That's for all of you that wanted to know =D |

 Aaaahhh! I patched. Heheheh |
Welp...Guess it's yet another game down the toilet..
Every single game I've played this week took a shit and they are all for an indefinite amount of time..so now I have nothing to do with my spare time.. guess it's back to writing MageDuel function plug() { http:/mageduel.cjb.net/ ; return; } |
Gith is God
Gith, your genius, thanks man!
this way we can play until the newer emu comes out, i personally havent played the emu version yet, i dowloaded right before the weds. patch, but what your saying is great, but that does mean Ill have to delete eq and install again..... no matter. your friend, Umbraianna :) |
if someone were to download the patch, what files would need to be replaced in order to fix the problem?
|
Gith here's an Idea
Here is basicly you idea but less confusing
1. Take the Unpatched folder Copy it (By selecting it and Hitting Ctrl-C) then rename it to "EverQuestNOPATCH" (No spaces cause dos and windows command window HATE spaces also shortcuts hate spaces too). 2. Paste (By hitting Ctrl-V) and once it is done pasting all the files rename the NEW folder "EverQuestPATCHED". 3. Next do all the steps you need to make "EverQuestNOPATCH" work with the emulator. Unfortunately I found this post AFTER I patched both my eq Dir's (I work with EthernalQuest as well and Have 3 Dir's for EQ sitting on an 80 Gig 4 gig per folder for me) My setup is something similar to this: "EQemu" "EverQuest" "EternalQuest" This is so I can play on Live servers and so I can Help both emulator Groups. Also have a Linux/Windows 2000 Box Sitting Next to me actively parsing everything that hits my network (I am trying to hint my Un-leetness heh). But seriously, I found this to be much less confusing. |
