This site is really tight on info, makes this very unfun sometimes

This site really isn't all that tight on info... it just isn't always super easy to find. But it is all here. This is the nature of the beast with this kind of project. It just takes patience.

Yeah, you find the info eventually.

I was frustrated to begin with, but then I begun to appreciate the time those who are actually qualified in SQL/Perl etc spent learning those things.

I finally got my personal server up and running with working bots after about 2 days. Although it still scares the crapola out of me in regards to how little I know about what is 'actually' going on.

One things I would suggest is that the search engine on this forum makes it difficult sometimes.

If you search for 'bot problem' it filters out bot as a short word :P

To search eqemu I use google. Just go to google, type in site:eqemulator.org and your query criteria, i.e.

site:eqemulator.org "bot problem"

Works nicely. I hate the defaut forum search.

Just a note, "bot problem" only turned up 2 hits, this thread being one of them. ;-)
