Alright, I finally got around to doing all that. (Turns out working 300 hours a month isn't conduvice to EQ). I can no longer see my server on the list while trying to connect online. But when I try to launch EQ offline, WinEQ2 doesn't work. So I go to the EQ folder WinEQ2 is pathing to and ...EQgame.exe gives me the error message "Please Run EverQuest.exe"...but I don't have an EverQuest.exe, which makes me wonder how WinEQ2 is launching out of this foder at all.

Have you had any issues with login accounts using this? I am unable to get mine to work, and the Admin/Password does not work as well.

Works fine for me. Even setup someone last night to use my login server while emu login was down.

Disregard, I had some login password issues.

UPDATE tblLoginServerAccounts SET AccountPassword=SHA('foo') WHERE AccountName='bar';

Worked.

I followed all of the steps you listed, but for some reason the loginserver crashes each time. The log says it can't connect to the MySQL database though I've checked and rechecked to make sure I was spelling peq, root, and my password correctly and there were no typos. I've tried with and without the greater than/less than signs on my password (which was typed case sensitive), and I even tried changing localhost to 127.0.0.1, though I doubted that would work anyway. Any idea? The worst part is that the error message I get is just an accented upper case Y repeated a few hundred time. ÝÝÝÝÝÝ. So I can't even look that up. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The rest of the server EXEs work fine and have no problem connecting to peq.

In the threads I've looked in so far, people point to a different install guide than the one that is stickied. I tried doing just the log in server portion but ran into troubles with that, and just want to get this one step working.

You did copy the login.ini file to the directory where you're running the login server from right?

Yes that and the other two files were copied over, and that's the copy I've made my edits to.

Got it. I did have to change localhost to 127.0.0.1. I thought I tried that before but I must have still had my password in <> still.
