Does quest work in the linux version again. Last time I remembered they where broke or perhaps I wasn't doing it right. |
The POD quests work on my server..

If you wish to risk your account getting banned, packet AA's, Discs, and horses.
But then you realize the only reason your playing the emulator is because you could never reach the goal of eqlive to get there. Thats too bad. Image, I got the bard AA's and a few horses I can packet, fuck eq, I hope I get banned. |
You dont have to worry about packetcollecting, you'll be fine..
It's memory sniffing thats risky... |
I thought that too, but people have been saying they've been banned for packet sniffing, I don't really believe it but my account isn't really I want to put in any risks, but EQ is over for me, fuck it. ;)

Account for Devs??? huh
Should one of the DEVs need a 55th level wizard on Veeshan for packet collecting......
*turns on verant anti-text* ---> so you can avoid deleting this post I can go to the 'store' and 'buy' you a copy of EQ sending you the 'unopened' box, and then you can setup 'your' account and 'build' a wizard char to 55th level. Let me know if I can be of assistance....... |

I'm glad people dicked around with this code so people could zone around and have some fun. But if you guys think sitting on a dock for 45 minutes or shouting for a port for an hour or two is fun, then sit and spin =) And while your sitting there scratching your ass and smelling your finger, you can think up an answer to why YOU can't "hack" playing on a real server and have to go to all the time/trouble/cost to set up a server with identical rulesets. You gonna tell me that the 12 bucks a month is putting you in the poorhouse? Or all the other mean players KS'd your orc pawn in WC and made you leave so you can sit on an empty server waiting for a boat? |
i for one can say lots of us left EQ due to customer service and how the game was made.
EQ was once the best MMORPG out there. --for a week :) But yeah, you can say in general lots of the people are fucking dumb, but usually i'm the one KSing the orcs in wc. ;) > I've never really tried hacking EQ though, I've tested /zone hack on a dummy account once, and it was pretty lame. Sense I had a druid at that time. But I do think its lame how people come to EQEMu because they never reached a goal of getting to 60. |
If you want some packets sniffed/collected from a level 63 monk with primal/ntov loot, just let me know how?
Cause I noticed primal proc's on weapons don't work either, so if you need that sorted and its doable from packets...let me know? Some of us left EQ not cause we couldn't hack it, but because we were sick of the constant nerfs and the craptastic Customer service. I got about 2 weeks left on my accounts before they run out, let me know what to do (i not really been into packet sniffing, spdat reading all that bollox) and I will get it done. I also have a horse, though I am still not sure why I bought it. Frankly I couldn't careless about being banned, I played 3 years solid with no break and no intention of leaving, when I made the decision to leave it was 100% made, there is no going back. So err fill me in with some details and I can help you out maybe. |
Here's a question for you - Why do hang around an emulator emulating EQ if you hate EQ so much?
The EMU wasn't created to give you a quick "uber" rush. During Winter's Roar Beta 1, I'd get people logging on four-five times a day sending me tells for GM privs or uber shit. So, I put a MOTD saying "This is a normal playing server. Don't ask for items. Don't ask for GM privs." Then, they'd log on, take the time to explain how "laem" (I don't think one of them ever typed out an entire sentence correctly) it was that I didn't have #summonitem or #itemsearch, and if they wanted to play EQlive they could. Good riddance. I work on my server because I want to create my own unique EQ experience. Not as EQlive, but as *I* want EQ. I don't create my server to cater to people that want to feel uber for a few hours, then dissapear never to be seen again. What would be the point? |
Who ever said we hated EQ?
Most of the people I know who have left EQ left EQ not because of the game but because of Verant/SoE. There is a WORLD of difference there. Do I want to come to your server and be treated in the same way that I am treated on an EQlive server? What would be the point? I might as well log into EQ's servers and play a full game for a lousy 12 bucks a month, I spend more then that on cigarettes. Until EMU can FULLY recreate the game, ie let you play from a level 1 gaining exp and doing quests in the same manner that a full EQ server can, then there is little point trying to 'recreate' something. It would if you pardon the analogy it would be like me trying to recreate the mona lisa without a paint brush..or any paint. |
*feels like this is an Everquest Anonymous thread*
I left because of the cost, and the time it took to play. I never had any issues with the so called problem players. I was part of a great guild, a bunch of people I really miss. Everquest was a great experience for me, but didn't have the extra flow or the extra time to keep playing.. I'm using Eqemu for Lan parties. Bunch of friends of mine who've never played the game but have seen me play. Now I can hook them up in our own private server, no cost to any of us... my rant for the day... Oh .. don't particularly care for horses .. rather the guild training get fixed first...:D |
pop
i'd like to see pop stuff, and fix some aa too : )
great emu guys, keep it up! |
I for one would LOVE to see horses/aa's put in. I realize it's not a game-breaking thing but it'd still be nice. If I knew how to I'd help work on it but I'm a newbie to this stuff.
I totally understand that you need to get more important things working first though, and I totally agree. Good luck! btw, this program is awesome. Great work on it. :) |
