dc, I agree that those 3 things should be done. I only argue with your way of pointing it out. A simple, friendly PM to a dev would probably suffice to make those changes happen. I think your method of mixing recommendations with frustration and insult is ineffective in making changes happen. If you need something changed, just PM the guy who is in charge of it with a polite, concise, thought-out plan. Most of the devs are open to thoughtful suggestions.

Secondly, eqemu DOES work for all new people, but only on Merth's server when it's up. Giving a news bulletin would be moot by the time Hogie or another dev got around to it, because I'm sure the situation would change. These news bulletins are out of date within 1 week of reading them. For the most up to date information, you just need to lurk in the irc server. Everything from updates to repairs to whatever are discussed realtime.

I agree that the p-bomb should be removed if they want it to disappear. All links, everything should be taken down. I'm curious myself why it hasn't happened already.

You don't have any right to complain at all, doesn't matter the time. This is a freely distributed project. If you would like to fund the project and pay the developers a full time salary, then you may complain all you want. Until this happens, EQEMu is run the way the devs say.

And no one ever claimed anyone was a better human than anyone else, sounds like you're venting a little.

Folks, just be patient, keep the insulting posts down to a minimum, and allow everyone to work through, and you guys might see a working EMU with the live client in the next few weeks. Insulting the people that are working the hardest on it isnt going to help you...

Actually, I think the developers have done a hell of a great job. They have given us a way to see new worlds like the one on Winter's Roar. They keep releasing new tools for the nice people running servers. And keep in mind that these people are not making money on this, but obviously have spend money on bandwidth and on hardware, not to mention the time they have taken from their families to help us by providing this project as open source.

Just wanted to say good job to the developers and ask others to remember what they have provided and ask all to think of were they would be with out the sacrifices made by the developers and the hosts of the various servers.

Look sorry if I'm outta line, but it's getting sickening. Anyone who insult the Dev's in any kind of way are just a bunch of <insert expletive here>. These guys take thier own personal time to make this project happen. How many of you ever contributed any kind of code? How many of you ever helped when people ask questions?! If you can't answer one of those questions yes, quit yer damn complaining and just take chill pill. You wanna be helpful offer your service. You wanna see the emu flourish, do something! Stop griping and whinin and let the Dev's do thier work in piece.

There will be a version of eqemu that works with live. You just have to wait for it.
