Okay i patched to live. changed my eqhost by just typing in the host text. changed it to read only and i still get booted back to the desktop after i enter my name and password and click login.
What else do i need to? How do i create a file using wordpad?

Still not working

I made my shortcut target to read:
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
and my eqhost to read:
[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5995

And after I enter my eqemu account info and then click on login I get booted to windows again.. any ideas?

Oh yeah, are you patched to EQ Europe or normal EQ, cause Europe uses a different format. See the help forum and tutorials forum for details.

Try to put in in there twice...it works for me...Tho im not sure how...All that i care is that it works hehe

I also am having problems. i can go into the login screen, but when i choose to go into a server (the winter roar one) it flashes back to the login screen before even displaying the character selection screen. i am more than posotive that all my Ini files and txt's are correct. has anyone come up with a fix?? i downloaded all the patches besides for Luclin and after that (Enough to log into Normal EQ). again, any help would be appriciated ^.^

EDIT: when logging into the green leaf server i get a eqgame.exe error and have to close. although when trying to login to the winter roar or whichever server it just boots me right before character select screen.

You have to log into 5.7 DR4 servers only with the latest patch. If you want to play on WR which is 5.3 you have to use their patcher from their website.

still not working

I am patched US. I get to the login screen I enter my EQemu information after that I get booted.

I need help i get onto the login screen but says my info is wrong my host txt is [LoginServer]
Host=eqlplogin1.eqemulator.net:5995 but it won't let me on.

you have the eqlsClient.ini downloaded, right?

[LoginServer]Host=eqlplogin1.eqemulator.net:5995
is all in one line? if that's how it is, you need to move the host= down to the next line

[LoginServer]
Host=eqlplogin1.eqemulator.net:5995

also you could try making the eqhost.txt file read-only
if that doesn't work, take off the read-only attribute and change the eqhost.txt contents to

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5995

and make it read-only again

now when i hit my patchme short cut i get to the login type in my password and slam im back to desktop what gives, or i get to server screen and , no servers then it kicks me to desk top, HELP if anyone can tell me a detailed thingy cause ive loaded several eqhost texts and none work not even the one i stated above please help

Same as Adamtech , did everything good (i guess) but keep loading after i enter Log and PW

I created an account to play on WR yesterday, and it's working fine. But all accounts i've tried to create today don't work... and i've talked to 3 other people who have been unable to create a working account today.

Tried to log in today and it said this:

Error 1010: No host was found!
Check that the file EQHOST.TXT exists in the EverQuest directory

in my directory: eqhost DOES exist.

I tried everyones example of how to log in, but it's still no go.. Please help :)

edit - my target for the eqgame.exe shortcut is

Dont know if that'll help or not.

Okay got eqhost working but on the login it just sits saying:

"Logging in to the server. Please Wait"

This goes on forever, I waited and waited..even went afk and came back and it still said that.
