I've been tinkering with divx lately. Came into the problem of virtualdub not being able to open .wmv files.

I finally managed to get a divx copy. but i had to play the movie in winamp and record it with fraps. Essentially its a copy of a copy. lol. so the quality isn't what it would be if i had the original fraps recorded video.

it's like 1 meg smaller than the .wmv you posted, not much and it's a smaller actual size too. Not too impressed with the result. I bought fraps, so im going to play with it with some games and see what i can come up with.

I have doctor divx, which *does open and convert .wmv. but the quality is shitty as hell. it makes it all blocky. so im gonna stay far away from .wmv files, they seem to suck =p

Also, i have a audio codec i need to try out, i think it came get the audio compressed better. used mpeg3 codec with this.

i got windows movie maker and damn.... that's easy shit. i just wish you could save in avi and not wmv (

tried about 8 different convertors for your information none of them worked. but way to be an ass, retard.

ill try your links. but from the address only 1 might work. the other say Divx to WMV etc,. needs to be the other way around. wmv to avi

Odd, ive been messing around with Windows movie maker since 2002 when i got my new (then it was) PC. It never gave me any problems putting MP3s into the timelines. One thing i would like to know how to do is extract audio from movie files, and delete certain parts of audio on the files (for example when my mom taped a soccer game she wanted me to edit out the coach swearing under her breath).

yes i upgraded it.... i downloaded it straight from microsofts website....

it still does it.. music wont add it simply crashes. piece of shit.
