Yeah, there was a change in how the client handles doors somewhere along the line.
If the correct door names are not sent..one set of clients will just see empty space - complete with stars :P |
Well right now, the zone in to lobby from pok, the door sends the rof2 client to the old version. This
was achieved by editing the perl script. But once in the lobby, the rof2 client can not zone back out to pok without a port. Clicking on the zone out door does nothing. But it works fine going in, haha. I do have an npc porter (like the sage they had on live), to port a client out of lobby. But I might have to implement the same thing for the guild hall. (an npc porter to send the rof2 client in to the instance) As a last resort anyway, lol |
I'm pretty sure that no one has looked at that since RoF2 became active...
It may be that another 'special' handler is needed. If you manage something before one of the dev's get to it, please post and we'll see if we can get it worked in sooner. |
SANTA KLAUS visits The Lockjaw
SANTA KLAUS and his little helpers have parked themselves in the PoK bearing
gifts for everyone, including 10 dose double experience potions. All zones have been tagged as a HOTZONE for the rest of the holiday month. NPC Traders in Bazaar are also getting involved with free summoned gear and and potions, including clicky res. Have fun everyone !! The Grinch is also lurking in the midst with nothing but bad thoughts ........ |
Just to let people know, when your on the LockJaw server, I am usually always logged on,
in game, (except when sleeping), but quite frequently I have the "GM" status turned off. I have to do that when testing various features out, because some things like locked doors will open for GM without a key, etc., so I have to turn the status off for testing. In many cases, clicking on that GM list button in your UI window, will not show me there. If you need help right away with something, (regarding normal game play), you can type /who all in your chat window and see my name, then send me a /tell. If its marked AFK there will be a message with it. Thanks for your patience :) |
For those who have exisiting bots that cast pets - If you are annoyed with the pet agro,
you can delete that existing bot and create a new one (same kind). NOTE: An update has been done that stops all bots from spawning a pet. This was needed to get rid of the annoying agro from pets which caused issues. So if you have an existing bot that summons a pet and you want that pet, DO NOT delete that bot. Any NEW BOTS created will NOT spawn pets. Including Mage's, yes I know that sucks, but sorry, had to weigh the options. |
Visit The LockJaw Website
Some basic work has been done on The Lockjaw website to give people info they need
to know anything about the server for playing, updates, etc. I would encourage anyone looking for info on the server, to visit the website. Player support for The Lockjaw will only be done ingame or through the website. http://www.thelockjaw.org/ |
I was hoping you linked the website in that paragraph, not seeing it though. May want to put it in your signature too.
http://www.thelockjaw.org/ You are probably going to kill yourself constantly updating an about page with changes. You might just want to setup a forum and do monthly or quarterly post regarding changes, that way you have a nice history. |

There won't be any updates posted on my page that players don't urgently need to know. I encourage them to keep an eye on the MOTD for anything important. But changes will be kept on history offline. I most certainly don't want a forum site, lol |
Why would you not want a forum?

setting this server up the way I want it, and it will be good to go, but that is going to be slow but ongoing for several months |
Ok, added the web addy to my signature :)

Perfect!

The email contact form on the site works well. It can be used for important support issues, etc.

i've been around for a long time. i even bought EQ within a couple months of its release. i have no idea how to create a merc. never had to learn, so being incredulous about it is a bit much. whether 1% don't know or 80% is irrelevant. he simply was asking for a very small amount of information.
in general, should people make use of the search feature or google before asking mundane questions? sure, i have no problem agreeing with that. however, we are all lazy on occasion. i googled "mercs eqemu create" and all i got was info for server-side setup on the first two pages. it's folly to assume that how something works on real servers is how it will work on emu servers. that isn't a critical statement, but merely an understandable and unavoidable reality. (for the record, i think eq emulation works very well.) you did eventually tell him to right click, but in a very condescending way, and neglected to mention that it is just like a merchant, if like live. i still have never made one. i hesitate to ask about the spells or dbstr files that are required. i don't want to be told i should know better, tsk, tsk, i'm a dummy! |
