Do yourself a favor, Rent Force Unleashed. Its about an 8-10 hours play through, which to me isn't worth spending $60 on, but renting it for a weekend would be well worth the money.

Hadn't played since I toasted my laptop and my external hard drive (within the same week) and lost both my install and .ISOs last semester. Was up late last night and ended up erm... Finding my old DVD copy of the game so I could reinstall it this afternoon. Get it all taken care of, pull up the server list, scroll down to PEQ... My first thought was one of utter horror, that the other server admins raided the PEQ server so they could get some attention, glad to hear it was just the secret service! Hope to see this go back up today, I feel for you guys who were active and have been sitting around for almost a week. Viva PEQ!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Jibbatwinker ran Zeb about a year and some change ago, then someone else took it over and sorta messed it up, and now it's run by yet someone else?

Back in the day, I did really dig the PoP progression quests with the back/secondary shields, and the custom epic quests. All my chars got wiped though so I haven't really been on Zeb much.

What I guess I'm getting at: is it about as fun as when Jib ran it? Or did you play then?

from what I know Jib stil runs it now - been so for last 6 month or so =)

how much longer til PEQ is up? I've been playing TZ/VZ past few days which has been fun cept no Velious or Luclin so graphics kinda blow, and not enough content just yet...*and the monsters get to cast PoP spells....but we can't...no fair* other than that TZ/VZ isn't to bad I like the PvP style...but i really miss PEQ :((

No need to worry, we're not going anywhere. If we really really have to, we'll find some other place to host the server. I doubt it will come to that, but we do have a plan B.

Lots of hate on that server, when I went there everyone in /ooc was being a racist moron and when you zoned half of the time you were facing the wrong way.

I absolutely agree. The people I've encountered on the TZ/VZ server are obnoxious. It really is amazing how different the community is on PEQ.

Currently, AC people are working on the building and are making absolutely certain the temperature will hold steady in the new place. I had wondered why they didn't do this before the upgrade/move, but I'm told the previous tenants didn't leave until Friday so there was no time. All non-essential machines are going to remain off until they are satisfied they won't melt. ;)

Like their customers, we were offered to be moved back to the old space for the time being. But, since we aren't paying, and we've already been moved once we decided just to wait it out. The other thing about it is we are situated and plugged in, all we need is to be turned on. If we are moved, and then moved back there may be even more delays and downtime later on.

Be patient guys, we'll be back soon, and with a ton of work that needs to be merged!

PEQ Question from a noob
 

I had setup the mysql thing and all that crap in the setup guide, chose peq over the classic. I just got the titanium disks and will try my own server tonight. Are you guys all on a public peq server though?

Also when I downloaded the quests it was a few weeks ago. How often is that updated and how can one see when and what those updates are? or do we just open winCVS once a week and see?

i was wondering if u could work more to get people into dueling and more pvp..first fixing the bug that allows dueling..and have you ever thought of making some zones PVP ..it would make this great server even better would draw in more players

I never said when it would be up. Only that it will be. Our ISP has not given me an ETA so I can't give you one.

PVP is something I'd like to see too, but it's not our primary concern honestly.

Well on a different note, the small amount of time I have had to throw at EQ I have had some fun on the server, "The Murdersmithy" its a Classic + Kunark. Pretty fun.

Yeah it's pretty great, but it has a lot of non-classic content in it still. Nektulos has the new spawns, Cazic-Thule is still just like every other classic server lacking the original spawns (man, do I want the original data from 1.0) and every class/race seems to start out in Qeynos at the moment. It felt very strange being an ogre warrior and just briskly strolling out of the city without any paladin guards stomping a hole in my torso. I imagine [though I didn't make it this far] that Rathe Mountains even has the froglok city in it still. Either way, awesome that someone is actually trying. I've been playing on Angelox's server (Legacy of the Rathe) lately, until I hit 50 and realized I don't have a wizard to teleport to Plane of Hate for the phat lewts. Hopes and dreams crushed. So I went to Velketor's and got a full set of crystal chitin, and hoped PEQ would be up by now so I could torture some players (it's therapeutic.)

I second this motion man. PvP is so much better it takes actual skill and teamwork. you have to make sure to watch your back, make alliances. just make it a 10 level -/+ PvP and have it set racial, or guild.

Or you can just enable guild wars and not ruin the entire server for PVErs.

PvP on Everquest? It's entirely Item Based, very little to do with skill......

No PvP please. It'll bring the same type of people from TZ/VZ that you guys are complaining about. Not saying all PvPers are like that, but every emu PvP server I've played on has had that sort of atmosphere.

I've only played on PEQ a while, but the number of people willing to help me out with tips or items because I'm new to the server is pretty awesome. You don't find that on most Emu servers (or live for that matter), PvP or PvE.

Fixing the dueling bug would be nice, but that's about it IMO.

Please do not turn your server into PvP. Many people do not like PvP, and I for one would be forced to leave if it converted. How about just enabling dueling, and/or make the arena zones PvP. The people who wanted to partake would be able to, and it wouldn't ruin the server for the rest of us. Anyway, hope to see the server back up soon. I'm going a little insane... Pushing a week now. =(

AC guys need to do some work eh? Looks it FOR SURE wont come back this weekend. AC guys and other construction workers do not work on the weekends. Expect them to work very slowly on monday as well...

Datacenter AC guys usually work 24/7. And PEQ is worth the wait.

Everyone is very happy you can fart dust and play EQ at the same time, but you're not exactly showing un-childish like behavior here ;)

I only brought up PvP because someone else did, no one is saying you're going to turn it into a PvP server Cavedude. Just discussing.

i also don't like to be on a quest but from behind i get ganked ..but for those who enjoy the pvp aspect of the game have a zone thats not used a lot that can be made as a BG(battle grounds) make 10 lvl rule and no major changes are done, throw in a few aspects that will make it more entertaining like bases or something just an idea but pvp is a great aspect of this game and to keep out dirty pkers this was would work and a new aspect would be vary exciting don't get scared of change give it shot cavedood

hah was it me that ganked you on the PvP? hah i took my 18 sk and shammy trolls behind the sand dune on TZ/VZ and saw 3 chars chillen at docks waitin for boat. *17 necro, 14 cleric, 14 paladin* got my camera so i could see them and target but them not see me, than i charged over the hill with my sk and HT'ed and whacked away at the Necro than clinging darkness'ed the other two while they ran to zone than dropped em.

This is the EXACT reason I don't like PVP, what you have to gain from ganking them like that? Nothing! It's not like you couldn't have shared the boat. They weren't camping anything that you wanted, all you did was ruin their day because now they had to go on a CR and wait for the boat yet again.
