EQ Live Patch 21st of April
 

there was a Live patch today, and I can't log on past the character select screen on all Emu servers.

I was wondering if this was due to said Live patch, or if my computer has recently become possesed. Will there be a Emu patch of live content? or shall I call a priest to preform an exorcism on my computer?

Well if you still havent a own Directory for EQEmu (EQ in another than live) then thats your own problem. Developers and other WAY TO OFTEN told PPL LIKE YOU to use 2 different Folders for EQ-Live and EQ-Emu. If you aren't able to follow some guides then youre probably to dumb to be an EQEmu Player.....

I have 2 directories for eq and eq emu, perhaps i did something wrong while following the directions for setting up eq emu, I followed them exactly as they were, and yet my eq emu folder's eq still patches. <I'm human I make mistakes>

perhaps rather than trying to flame me from the get go and telling me I am too dumb to be playing eq emu, maybe someone should enlighten me as to what I obviously messed up while setting up my eq emu folder. perhaps tell me what, if anything i can do to fix it.

I read, re~read and followed the directions as closly as I could.
there really is no need to get rude with someone and pass judgment on them before you have even had the chance to get to know them. I am too dumb? *shakes his head*
no I must have made a human error, which is most likely unheard of in the perfect world you live in. perhaps you assume too much, and should stop.

and btw, perfect your usage of the english language before flaming someone about how stupid they may be.
I won't bother to qoute you considering your post is clear as day for eveyone to see.

If you set up everything correctly, it won't patch when you run it... Make sure that your eqhost is correct and your shortcut is to eqgame.exe with patchme at the end. Don't make your shortcut to everquest.exe... It'll patch everytime. I'm not sure about today's patch, I haven't patched in a while. I'm sure that if it messed it up there will be an announcement soon. Good luck :D

First post and you've proven yourself to be too dumb to post anything beneficial. Why don't you just skip posting anything unless you have something worthwhile to say.

@dirty - Be sure that when you create your shortcut that it points to eqgame.exe instead of everquest.exe:

I had just finished re~reading the info on setting up EQ emu, and noticed i had made my shortcut from everquest.exe.

*smacks himself on the forhead*

well i fixed that, and now need to find a way to fix the files that were patched. eqgame.exe, eqfecfg.exe, eqgraphicsdx9.dll . and a few spell effects were patched, the patch only took me a couple minutes on a dial up modem. any suggestions on getting the old files back? perhaps one of you could set up a link on your server website and post those files for me to download? or another way, I would prefer to not to have to download anything from anyone i do not know... no offense.

Sorry, but hosting thoose files would be "warez" and alone asking for them in this forums can get you banned from the Admins....

Just curious if you created a new forum account because your previous one was banned?

If you've already patched both folders you have, then the only thing you can do is wait till a compatible version of Emu is released. :( If you've fixed your shortcut, then at least it won't happen in the future.

I just remembered i have an old hard drive sitting in a box collecting dust and it has EQ on it :) pre GoD but I am sure i could find the files i need on it. maybe it will work maybe not. never hurts to try. will post my results.
