I figured I would post here and explain a little about the server since I am the current admin of it.

Server is ran on a 2.1 cpu with 1 gig of 400mhz dual ddr ram on a t1.

I am currently working adding 2 more zone computers to the server. So that should be working soon I hope.

As far as I can tell there have been bugs and alot of servers have them =(

Also i know there is the issue with the lding during fighting. Not much I can do, but I can tell you that the devs are looking into it.

So I guess I would like opinions on the server as it is now.

Also please post here what you would like to see more of so I can get some ideas on what needs to be added =)

Brightblade has been my server of preference. It's been fun to play on. With the exceptions of a few bugs that seem to plague other servers as well, it's been great. Keep up the good work

BrightBlades is doing great,

The GM event help the other evening was fun - heres hoping to see more of those.

I'll just be glad when the zoning bugs are worked out - The other bugs just throw a little spice into the mix.

The one other thing I would like to see is some of the less populated areas have the respawn rate increased - basicallly any zone with < 50 critters.

I've been having a lot of trouble not crashing while playing on BB.

But other then that its been enjoyable and pleasent.

Did you mean have problems crashing, also what are you doing the most when crashing? Just curious

I think most of hte problems come from when I try to target a player/npc then I get a lot of general crashing and sometimes a buffer over/under run(cant remember which).

Those are the main ones.

BB is my prefered server.

What i like in BB:

- Semi legit server
- Good GM
- Many zones available
- More players than other servers

What i would like :

- More zones available :twisted:
- less lag (yes, i know : not easy if there are many players 8) )
- GM events... :roll:

also there seems to be a bug with mobs being attackable. example as of late i have been exping in pon well most mobs i can attack/kill fairly easily but some mobs con me as an ally and no matter how i try i can't attack them any ideas?

I've been having a blast on brightblade!

I'd really like more zone severs, and more high level zones populated, like PoP zones. If not more high level zones then make the respawn rate on the ones we have faster.

Heya Guys, GM-Rallos here, i would like to thank you on the server parise... and second... the more the server problems are talked about.. the faster they will be resolved... so keep the feedback comin... and have a fun time playing on BB 8)

BB is my current server of choice, and will probably remain so. It was the first server to really catch my attention as a keeper.

Yes. those mobs arent there. The only thing i can come up with is theyre waiting to respawn, or are respawning. just keep considering them until they hate you again :)

i like your server :) i dont like semi legit but yours is ok :)

Very nice server, kinda small and cozy, which is cool.
Only problem is that I tend to go LD a lot...but usually I just drop to char selections screen and go back in. Spawns seem a lil slow too, like someone said previously.
Other than that, very cool server. Non-legit is kinda boring and legit is too much like Live so Semi is typically the most fun imo.

Just a bit of advice. Alot of the zone crashes seem to be related to bad zone lines.

Even in the "complete" databases such as TCSMyworld ive found many of the zone points to just be completley screwed.

Any time you zone at the zones safe point seems to make that zone about 10 times more likely to crash. On my server I've noticed that zones that have 100% fixed zone lines hardly ever crash.

Might be worth a look if you havent dont it yet. Almost all of the "Default" zone lines need ot be manually corrected :(

Everytime I try to log on Brightblade recently, eqgame.exe has an error. Anyone else getting this?

eqgame has performed an illegal operation and will now close. yep. me. thats why i havent been on in so long

Hi! I have been two days without play and when I have gone to play in the screen to select character appears that the zone is unavailable.
The server is crashed?

Over the weekend the server locked up for some reason. I restarted it this morning all seems to be working again.

BB is real fun....I'm a 65 war/41 Paladin there, and I love it...

Except for :

-Stone Etched Mallets...
-Soul Devourers of any kind....
On other servers, both of these weapons caused lag and deleting them helped a little. I am not sure if it will help BB, but sometimes they do make the game unfun for people who like to use "real" items.
-A lot of weapons have -=Archery=- as a skill....that EQEmu, the database, or your server?
-DMG bug: What you see on your screen...You get hit x2 for...(e.g. I was in earth, 100% hp, 7.9k hp, no aa's. Was hit ONCE for 1172 (towering guard of the council or whatever) and I died instantly...I was at 100% hp also...

Good things:

-Lots of zones!! :D
-(kinda not good, but its kewl!!!!) When you die...YOU GAIN EXPERIENE! YOU HAVE GAINED A LEVEL. WELCOME TO LEVEL 65!!!
That happened to me tonight.../woot...

See the reason they hit so hard is because a while back people were haveing so much ac. I take a look into change or reduceing the damage that the npcs use. As for the 2 weapons. I will look into removeing them or nurfing them atleast =) As for the arch skill. The items had came that way. I just havent had time to try and correct them. Perhaps someone would be willing to send me an updated itemdb. As for if I pull the dumped items they will still have in all the hacked or twinked items in it. Not sure how you got exp from die will have to look into that one too =)

Perl and Quests coming soon. working on setting it up atm.

And for those wondering why I havnent switched to the 0.5.3 dr2 is because if I do switch all the chars will be lost =(

Did I miss a discussion about the character table changing between 5.3dr1 and 5.3dr2?

Well from the new database that moveing world builders made is that you will loose you chars if you make the switch and warned us of that. I tested this morning and with the new version it infact didnt notice any of my chars that had been there.

OK, I don't see any difference in the table definition, but there is a change in the profile. Looks like I'll have to write another conversion program.

Conan: Suppose someone wrote a conversion program to take the chars from 5.3DR1 to 5.3DR2....

copy your db (only the character_ table is required) make the copy the output db. Run in a DOS window. Type the name with no parameters to get the parms and order.

Totally untested. Will probably work :-)

Nahh, more the case of a cocky coder who thinks a simple fix should go smoothly and without bugs....

BB is my server of choice. I like the semi-legit format and everyone I've met on the server has been super-friendly. Keep up the good work!

Wish i could play on BB but i was to stupid and had to patch the dec 19 or 18 cant remember. Got eqemu on Dec.21. But there are a few servers that have updated. Was wondering if you guys could update BB. So the morons like me can play on it.

Hi all. You've all seen me online as Myst. As you most know, the Sleeper is one of the only mobs in the game with drops. I've seen links to 1 or 2 of them. My problem is that I made a druid. I attempted solo kera earlier, and almost had her. Problem is, when i do get the drop, I can not wield it. Would it be possible for you to make casters like myself some weapons and or armour that we can use when we do kill her?
Maigus is also almost upon the task...(enchanter)
Watch out folks, I'm trying to talk him into Charming Kera and rampageing through the zone with her...lol

Should be a decent sight...lol

btw- as far as looseing our characters when you (maybe) switch to 5.3, I do not think it is as bad as you all seem to think. Hell, it took me what? 1 week to max out at 65? Go play live, see how long it takes you...
As far as my other posts, about AC, it IS true. AC does nothing for us here. I tried with max ac and max hp. i lasted longer with the hp than the AC. So when searching for gear, go for the HP.

We tested it last night. I had to modify it slightly - I've got the new WORKING version up so you can download it. http://www.bossmob.com/Myra/CharConvert53dr2.zip

To use it, set up a second DB with ONLY your character_ table in it. In your main DB, delete all the chars from the character_ table (so it is there but empty). Open a DOS window, type

where <host IP> is the ip where mysql is at - like localhost
<userid> and <password> are the ones for mysql
<5.3DR! DB> is the db you created with only the character_ table in it
<5.3DR2 DB> is the primary DB that has the empty character_ table

When it is done, the empty character_ table will contain the characters from the other, but they will be DR2 format

Whenever i log in and select my character , it says the zone is unavailable. Ive made several characters and attempted to log in but all failed due to zone unavailable. Is it my computer or the server?
