The December 18th Patch <u>&lt;font color=red>Has Broken&lt;/font></u> EQEmu.

This means <u>DO NOT PATCH</u> Without making a backup of your existing EQ Folder.

Is there a place to download the previous patchs? I have a dial up connection and have to reinstall. Any help would be appreciated.

So, do i just need to not run the updater?

verant is trying to be smart when they first made us confirm that the patch didnt broke eqemu, then right after that they updated with a destroying file so everyone thought it was ok to patch.. i think maybe.. not.. or.. something =)

is there anyway to reverse the patch, if you already ran it? i tried sing eqemu patcher but it doesnt work anymore

No, you need to wait until EQEmu catches up with todays patch. This could take a while, just check back every week or so to check on progress.

There is a way to reverse patch, I use WinXp in start/programe/ accessorie/system tools/system restore.

I have patched forward, but have another computer with the old patch on it still -- does anyone know what files have broken the game, and if I just replace those with the older files would it work? Or anything that anyone else could tell me about getting those to work? Would I have to replace all the files that were updated, or just a couple?

Technically, you only have to replace a couple! Finding out which couple won't take you long. Search your everquest folder for any and all files replaced 12/17/03 or 12/18/03. When you have compiled a list, you can replace only those. It's probably faster to replace it all.

I looked at my Everquest.log file and at the bottom it says:

Would that mean those are the files that were updated?

You should be able to just replace those files with the old ones and have it work

actually you will need to replace "eqp_config.xml" and "eqp_strings.xml" aswell...
they are important, filled with info about the version
of EQ, so if you do not recover these files, you
will not be able to play.

I wanted to try out some zones in PoP and don't want to wait until i can get the cds back from my bro so i'm gonig to patch them in. I copy and pasted eq trilogy and SoL into a new folder and will change the files mentioned above in two previous posts and will get back to everyone to know if it will work, just changing a few files.

I tried system restore...didnt work...keep looseing connection to client...so hmm

god this sucks can soemone that got it to work walk me through the process on aim or something plz my aim name is zeakskit just give me a tell plz i feel lost without emulator. :(

i replaced the two files it said to in a previous entry adn it still didnt work so if someone could plz give me an instant message on aim my screen name is zeakskit and walk me thorugh the process i would be very grateful

you need to recover all the files from your patch-log, and the files i wrote earlier...

ok i cant find which ones were modified or not how do i tell which ones they are?

about the windows restore config thing how do i go to a day that isnt highlighted because i just got my computer tuesday and downloaded eq but the day it gives me the option of going back to is before i downloaded eq

How about if someone who was in the know enough not to update zip the files in question and upload them somewhere where us not in the know may download them? That would be great!

What do you mean? Those that were in the know of the patch going to break EqEmu? Is it those you mean? Cos if it is.. this makes for most peeps WITH THEIR EYES OPEN.

This was posted on the news page for SEVERAL WEEKS.. If you somehow managed to patch anyway.. TOO BAD FOR JOO... I certainly feel no pity..

I think what your asking is Ileagal your not allowed to distro EQ files with there permission im pretty sure.

Hey man, did it ever occur to you that us who patched maybe just GOT the game and didn't have any other choice??

I heard of EqEMU yesterday, I had never visited the website before then so I couldn't know of the patch problem!

Not everyone who plays this game has owned it for years. Think about that before you flame me again!

In the news forum, towards the top, there is a post... oh wait, it's this one. Yeah, there have been warnings since October. We issue the warnings over and over, and still people get upset. Would you like me to email everyone who hasn't heard of eqemu until just now?

No, I understand that I couldn't have known about the patch breaking EqEMU. All I asked was for some help, if it is legal to do so. Instead I got flamed, which is why I reacted the way I did.

Don't ask for the files, for your own security. It makes the devs angry, and you wouldn't like them... when they're angry.
