Hello all
I have a little probleme ( i think ) since last release 5.2

I notice that before with release 5.0 all working well.

So i keep the same .ini ( execpt addon ) and replace only the .exe

And have a error 1017 :(
I use different DB like MWnpcmoveDB_051_052, fulldb53dr1, eq52cbackup etc....

I think my probleme come with DB but im not sure

Oh also i dont patch with eqlive since last broken of course..
My last patching on eqlive is about 30 november 2003 !

When i try Fulldb53dr1 ( compatible with Release 5.2 it seem ??? ) i have no error in zone windows or world window.

Any idea ?
If my prob come from the database, someone can post the compatibility with release or DR because im in trouble with this.....

Another try for my local server
With the same parameter ( localhost etc ) ill try to run the release 5.2 with db.sql, update.sql and dumpeditem.sql AND not working ???
So have a question, the 5.2 have something different with miniloggin comparate with 5.0 ?
Because the 5.0 working fine...............

When i close eq game and look for the error i have one error in world windows:
[error] expecting OP_sendLoginInfo , got23 a

Find nothing that help me on the forum also........

read the posts around and you'll see that the normal 5.2 release doesn't work with minilogin. You need to modify and compile it if you want to use minilogin, or to download a world.exe that has a link somewhere in one of the posts of the forum.

So why i can use my own server so ? ( without compile )

as i written, there's a world.exe file you can download from somone who compiled it with minilogin support. use the search button with keywords like world.exe, minilogin ...

I think you need to make a right clic on the link and then "save as...", his server isn't set up to make exe files downloadable.

or only 5.2 release ?

You could try, but only 5.2 should work...

no, there's no solution to play with the french setup, the server software only supports english.

and a problem ( eqemu, database or french file ??? ) when i inspect spell for information i have a crash :(

pointless imho, what you did is just to change the spell names, and it seems to remain buggy. If you want to use the client with french support, you ll have to do what Kathgar suggested : download the source, translate the texts to french and have a dev tell you (and i) how to pass thru the login page. After that, you ll still have to translate the database, and the quests, 30000+ items, as many mobs, loottables, lootdrops, books, etc etc... and obviously, have to deal with the multiple database upgrades that you ll want to use (make a diff with your own db, translate it, source it...)
honestly, i don't know if it worth it, for me it doesn't at least :)

anyway, good luck, you gonna need it )

Even if you have a complete database and don't maintain a french version of a database that is changing, you're looking at hundreds or thousands of hours to translate everything.

or you could just make a french item collector instead of translating everything...
