EQEMu Woes.
 

Due to recent incidents EQEMu is undergoing some hard times. Our Google account was cancelled. Google cites the following reasons.

Quote from Google:

" Your Google AdSense account was found to be related to an account previously disabled in September for invalid click activity.
This account was approved in error. Publisher's whose accounts have been found to receive invalid clicks are not allowed further participation in the AdSense program. We apologize for the inconvenience. As outlined in our program Terms and Conditions, Google reserves the right to terminate any publisher's participation at any time. "


So now we have come to the point where we either ask you, our user base, for help or we start cutting back on services. The money generated by those adds was used to pay for services that you use (website/loginserver ect). Without your help we will have to cut back on some of those services. Our agreement with our current dedicated host is ending, and because of the lack of add revenue we are unable to get a new host.

If you do decide to donate you will get a special forum title, and Special(tm) Tech support from myself.

Wow, this actually concerns me quite a bit now. First we have the topic on a OSS loginserver locked so there can't be any additional conversation around peoples ideas on why one might be needed (or not) and now we get notice that the EQEmu login servers are at risk.

Bribes usually generate from a higher portion of the scale. I don't think 50 is enough, considering the high value is on the low end of 36 digits, and you only offered 2 digits.

This is exactly the reason they never asked for donations from users before, people saying I know you have to put out $ for me to use this but if you dont do what I want I aint sending a dime but I am still going to use it.

If this job I am at gets up and running, I will gladly send a donation. I have been watching this project for almost 2 years now and have been loving what I have been seeing each and every release, you guys have gotten so far on this project you deserve something in return, hell, you deserve alot in return. Keep up the good work guys! You won't see me leaving anytime soon (even though I ain't posting, I am still here), after college I might just join up and help with some coding 8) Right now though, I don't know much, lol.

I already laid down 20 bucks and after I get my new vid card and the two games I want, more will be sent. And I know this has basically been said already, but they are asking for donations for support of the service they already have, not the hypothetical one you want it to be. I was already trying to stop it before it turned nuclear and got us both banned.

And just for a bit of context.....Brian was a kid that hated me on a certain message board so we went head on, getting at each others throats after each others posts. I took the professional voice of some college professor, he took street talk. The "Brian-Volvagia Wars" eventually split the entire board into two, one following me and one following him. But by then I had reduced him to a blabbling idiot (not kidding, he had several paragraph statements that just repeated "So I am right and you are wrong cocksucker") that caused his own followers, although they disliked me, respected me nonetheless and still frequented my board. Long story short, both boards stagnated and died, but pride requires me to say that his board fell first after never taking off, and mine about a month after with it becoming the unoffical replacement to the old board when it shut down.

I noticed that no one tried to counter claim google's actions.

Does this mean that what occurred is true? if not, why can't you work with google to resolve the issue?
