I decided to release the beta version.. 0.99 today..

If you want you can test it and test it out and tell me whats wrong with it. So I can or You can fix it.. and add stuff..

That is not a Prob with the DB it is a prob with MYsql itself
There are meny other posts on that i have posted on it myself all they tell me is login as root and grant all to (yourusername)

I have done this. It appears to be a problem with the script itself. It keeps trying to login in as 0, not as root. I use MySQL extensively, so I know how to grant permissions properly. I just don't know PHP well enough to fix it :roll: Thanks for your reply, though. :wink:

Invalid Character ID
 

I keep getting this error invalid character ID what does that mean? If you want to see what i am getting click here its not working for anyone http://www.s94829016.onlinehome.us/legends/ which DB do i need?regular EQEMu DB for everquest? well get back to me

but the next problem behind that is the Quesry Failed.....lol it just doesnt want to work with me

Does anyone have a legends server up? What is the difference?

Not a legends server, it's the legend-like character profile avaliable on the web.

More Magelo than Legends.

It just lets you see all your character stats, equip, HP etc on the web like you can with Magelo profiles.

Oh, wait. . .

OK, enough with the stupidity. I decided to install and test this on my private test server. After I installed it, I loaded it up with my test GM char (a 65 Froggy Pally - what else - with a full set of Trydan's) to see what it looked like.

Well, I don't know what all this is supposed to show but all I got was a blank white screen with a list of the basic Attributes (AGI, CHA, DEX, etc.) all with VASTLY wrong numbers. I didn't get any items, money, profile, race, gender, resists, level. . . None of that stuff.

Well, I'd like to change all that. And, seeing as I'm a professional PHP programmer (a.k.a. "Web Developer" :P), I figured that I was the right frog. . . err PERSON for the job!

So, I'm posting here to ask the permission of khuong and, provided I can get said permission, ask for some locals to help out with the coding.

What I'm going for is - eventually - to have an EQEMu based version of Magelo that, in addition to allowing people to see characters on an EQEMu Server, will also to allow those players to create "virtual" characters from scratch just like Magelo does!

For those who are looking at actual characters, there would also be - again, eventually - the ability to click on any item/slot and go to a page where they can search for better items of the same type or that can be worn on the same slot similar to what the Character Updater at Allakhazam's does.

I'd like to stress that this is an EXTREMELY ambitious project and that I will be needing a LOT of help (provided khuong gives permission) to get it up and running.

I've actually already started working on this. I've been plugging away at it for about the past 3 weeks. I e-mailed khuong to see if he was still continuing this project and haven't received a response. I've been pretty quiet about working on it, seeing as that what I have so far doesn't have the polish I think it needs before public viewing. Despite that, I've already corrected numerous bugs, (which I expected in a beta Khuong, no insult to you. :) ) applied CSS and transparency, I've also been adding additional features as I go, A character selection page with some error checking built into it. The class representative icon now show's up along with the profile. I'm currently working on an import from the MySQL db into flash so the MOTD can be viewed from the profile. A large snag is coming from the character_ profile><BLOB> data. I'm working on writing some php or js script to convert the binary to something usable. The <blob> contains a lot of information needed to correctly formulate thing's like ATK, Fire Ris. ect. ect. If you're interested in helping me out, (Which it sounds like you are.) Please PM me. I can send you a link to view what I've completed thus far. (Again, I'd post a link here, but I don't feel the profile is at the appropriate polish yet. Close, but not quite.)
